Draft Day Poll: You make the call. Offense or defense?
The football offseason can be broken down into four phases:
Phase 1: Free Agency
Phase 2: The Draft
Phase 3: June Cuts
Phase 4: Training Camp
The Bears are now moments away from completing Phase 2. In Phase 1, the Bears made huge splashes to address the offense with Cutler, Pace, Omiyale, and Shaffer. However, no major additions were added to the other side of the ball, aside from new D-line coach Marinelli, and a couple of veteran safeties to provide competition (Bullocks and Earl).
And, perhaps the Bears biggest need on offense, a veteran WR, will be addressed in Phase 3, with the addition of a veteran who is cut in June.
So... with Lovie taking over the D this year... major needs at FS & DE... and a Phase 1 that was focused primarily on the offense, you make the call.

The best pick up 2day...
would not be in the draft.
Well, I had a dream last night
I remember being livid. So, I’ll take defense, most likely a DT or DE. I wish we went offense, but I can see Jerry getting another DE.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Really!
tell me about this wonderful dream!

All I can remember
is we selected defense with our #49 pick. There was someone there on offense that was a no-brainer; Jerry chose defense instead. I was so angry. Also, we’ll be drafting someone from Clemson today, count on it.
Is anyone else looking forward to watching Freeman sit and squirm?

OK.... who are the top picks from Clemson?

Jerry Angelo trades for Jay Cutler! (4.2.2009)
.
as long as it's not a WR out of clemson, I'll be good :)
And yes I look forward to seeing freeman have the composure a nine year old girl holding her urine.

I mean, we don't have a first round pick, so normally
it would be a boring day. Freeman alone is giving me something to watch during the first round
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
And then watch Freeman
Get booed by the Jets fans. I think they always boo their pick. The one year I remember they didn’t was D’Brickishaw Ferguson.

I just want to see the bears take care of the front seven
pass rusher, DT. I think we can work with the safeties we have already. then we can pick up a LB in the later rounds. I really think the Bears are gonna find a gem at LB this season.

I've been slowly leaning this way
And I really like Paul Kruger and I think there’s a legitimate chance he falls to 49.

I think there'll be bigger offensive names after June cuts...
Just my guess….does anyone know any notable cuts/acquisitions in the past few years? Who’s likely to be cut/on the bubble entering camp around the league?

I had to go to bed at the 15th pick cause it was too late and my ISG was closing the office.
But i woke up this morning having a dream from last night that the Bears drafted Hakeem Nicks. Well, i came in the office today and needless to say i was crushed. I just hope we can still get Louis Murphy and a DB in the rounds to come. Here’s to hoping.
