Good ol' KO

Right now I'm concerned where Maclin goes

Cuz right now the Giants and Philly are the two teams who I think can offer a better package for Boldin then we can. But if Maclin goes to Philly, and the Giants make that much-rumored trade for Edwards, then that takes them out of the Boldin sweepstakes, and then we can swoop in.

that is quite the set of what ifs.

I think it's believable that Maclin goes to Philly

I don’t see SD/Cle/Den/TB/Det taking a WR.

Maybe Cleveland. But other then them I don’t see the other teams getting him

Cleveland will

if they don’t plan on keeping Edwards.

And if we’re after boldin, those teams finding other options also lowers the price.

So, I think it's a guarantee that we would take...

Maclin with our 18th pick if he’s still there. I’m pretty sure I’m glad we traded it away.

by Jacob Hayes on Apr 25, 2009 4:46 PM CDT reply actions

Bears

did not like Maclin when they brought him in. Turner has also stated numerous times that he wants a big physical receiver

by JohnnyTruant on Apr 25, 2009 4:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Considering the moves we made in FA...

There would be absolutely zero value at any position, without trading down.

by Jacob Hayes on Apr 25, 2009 4:48 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah

because we have a solid QB now, and there should be a few good WR when we pick in the second that might be comparable to Maclin down the line.

I count 6 teams

picking before us who could potentially take WR—Ten, Rams, Browns, Seahwaks, Bengals, Jags. That’s a lot of picks to sweat out.

good short yardage back

but they need someone to carry the load for a higher avg…

by CloudyFuture on Apr 25, 2009 6:21 PM CDT up reply actions

Where is LeSean McCoy supposed to go?

I think that guy will end up being the best back from this class.

by shawndgoldman on Apr 25, 2009 6:19 PM CDT reply actions

good pont...

but only for a couple years. Plus, as long as the team has another good back he should stay fresh.

by shawndgoldman on Apr 25, 2009 6:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Eh

I don’t like taking feature backs in college. Too many miles. RB have short enough careers without having that many carries already.

This is really good if you like Sean Smith or Rashad

With Darius Butler still left on the board, the teams that want a CB have someone left to cover Smith and it’s unlikely you’ll see both come off the board before us.

but drake loves the guy….no way Robiskie lasts to 49

by CloudyFuture on Apr 25, 2009 6:23 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't..

…want a safety in the second. Get one in the third and trade out of the second if there is no WR there.

by Twins Territory on Apr 25, 2009 6:23 PM CDT reply actions

You're crazy...

FS is a MUCH bigger hole than WR since we don’t have a starter right now :P

by Jacob Hayes on Apr 25, 2009 6:25 PM CDT up reply actions

agreed.

Esp. when you consider the differences in the Bears with/without Mike Brown. He needs to be replaced, and those are big shoes to fill.

by shawndgoldman on Apr 25, 2009 6:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah...

I guess I really just want some assurance that Cutler will have another target next to Hester.

by Twins Territory on Apr 25, 2009 6:26 PM CDT up reply actions

The way we work in WRs...

There is a much better chance of Bennett being a reliable target THIS year than Crabtree on our team.

by CloudyFuture on Apr 25, 2009 6:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Because, as I told WCG

Haugh is not the draftnik for the Bears. He needs to stop picking up on high-rising prospects and focus on the CURRENT Bears.
