Highlighted Quotes From the Cutler Thread

There were tons of great quotes yesterday in the Cutler thread... I thought I'd give some of them a little attention:

I once saw Orton down about 6 drinks in 10 minutes at a bar in Bourbonaiss. The guy give true meaning to the title Boilermaker.  by Just Dave

Giddy the F up!!!!  by tripsevens

Please tell me Ron Turner was involved in the trade…Cutler will be Jon Butjer in 4 months if Turner remains… by Ugh It Live!

First things first. You guys need to put a hit on Bus Cook!  by BAL_Hawk

Most importantly...

What happens now with the WCG Mock Draft????

Does the guy picking for the Broncos pick twice??

Does the guy picking for the Bears pick for the Broncos second???

I guess we won't be talking about Donovan McNabb for awhile.  by aznsensation

holy shit...it was a lot, but you know what? f waiting around, they made a ballsy move. so in 5 years we may still suck if this was a bad move, big damn deal, could have sucked anyway.

i am sick of worrying about "blowing the future."  by mike b

Funny. 24 hours ago, every single Bear fan most likely believed that this off season was the worst in over a decade. 24 hours later, this may be the Best in a long time!       by Chanman25

Heh. My first Bears memory was watching Bobby Douglas throw an interception. This is a great day. I’m gonna go get drunk now.  by xarker

That Bears-Broncos Preseason matchup looks good.  by GallopingGhost

Jeff Dickerson is on SportsCenter. Why is he on radio again?

he’s a good lookin’ guy. :-)

                              by halfblindcubbiegirl

He will throw to bennet

Cutler went to V with Earl Bennet and was who he threw too in college. He threw to Bennet on Bennet’s Pro day last year. Cutler is also real close to Chris Williams who played with them both on V and is a Offensive tackle. SO yeah…Cutlers happy in CHI town…im l;eft with ORTON, K F-ING ORTON!

hey. more shit we knew two years ago.

Earlier in the off-season

many of us had been arguing that it would be very good for the Bears if Orton had to compete with Chris Simms for the starting QB job.

Ron Turner is now on the Hot Seat!

He’s now got a Pro-Bowl QB, an explosive player in Hester, and guys like Olson and Forte. It’s his job to make it happen with these guys.  by GeoMak

Jay is our quarterback   by Jbasic89

Completely worth it

Although Cutler hasn’t reached elite status yet, he’s shown that he can get there. What is that worth? To me, that’s worth ALOT, even more than what we paid. I mean c’mon 50% of 1st rounders are a bust! you add in the sordid history of Bears 1st round draft picks. Hell, I’d give up 3 Bears first round picks for a true talent like Cutler. Even if it sets us back a year or two, it’s worth it to eventually build around Cutler.

Today is a good day to be a Bears fan.  by Subotai

What?

No one wants to talk about whether or not we’re going to sign Ken Lucas?

My oh my how the off season has turned!  by Hurricanes becoming Bears

Anyone Know

And my personal favorite:

Jerry Angelo had this to say from his beach house in Florida earlier today about the Cutler and Pace deals…

betting on the bears

i am taking this trade in a very positive manner in that i am off to the bookies and i am placing a bet which will read, the bears to win the central div ( a no-brainer) considering the opposition “i could even put a side bet on and say they will sweep the other teams in the central div”. that the BEARS WILL WIN THE HALAS TROPHIE .NFC champions.& the superbowl i am so confidant in the bears and i think the staff at the draft may even trade for a top pick wide receiver (who could they go for) maybe thats what we should be discussing.

by stepeo on Apr 4, 2009 1:21 AM CDT reply actions

i dont think thats a smart bet

a good bet on the other hand would be the bears will win the north.

i will bet you one internets the bears dont win the central!

(secret whisper to anyone who isnt stepeo- shhh there is no longer a NFC Central shhhhh)

ALAS!

someone else mentions what i was thinking. The Bears should be considering trading up in the draft in order to get a better receiver. they should move back into the 1st round to draft Harvin. If i thought Robiskie would be around at #49 id say wait, but he is likely to be gone.

Love the post

some good comments that I missed.

How about a comment hall of fame for some of the great comments that get made only to sadly fade away.

Cutler

I don’t know that Cutler is the savior many think him to be… I know a couple of Bears fans, that have alot of football knowledge and neither was happy about the trade!!! JA (ESPN) and former Bears CB Todd McMillon liked the trade!

Also lets remember that Cutler hasn’t won anything yet! No playoff games, no playoff wins, lost a 4 game division lead w/ 4 to play last year!

Cutler was 16th in QB rating last year w/ Shanahan as a HC, how is it that Lovie and Ron Turner are going to make him better?! Just sayin…

Last year A. Rodgers was 6th in QB rating and bettered Cutler in every MEANINGFUL stat for QB’s. Comp %, yds/attempt, TD’s, Fewer INT’s, and QB rating all were in favor of Rodgers over Cutler!!!

The best QB in the division is STILL in GB!!! GO PACK GO!!!

I know you guys want to be optimistice about the Cutler trade, but I’m just stating FACTS!!! Just cuz you can’t dispute them isn’t my fault. If you want to bury your head in the sand and think Cutler is your messiah thats up to you, but I live in reality and the stats just don’t lie…

I am not oblivious to Rodgers trouble winning games in the 4th qt. either, but another little tidbit I’m sure you’re unaware of is the Pack actually lead the NFL in 4th qr scoring. Means Rodgers put us in position to win alot of the games we lost… Our D is a bigger issue than Rodgers, but even that was better than the Bears D! LOL

Let me know when you want to discuss using some FACTS!!!

GO PACK GO!!!

here's a fact

Packers suck.

Here's another fact

1. Nobody cares about your opinion.
2. Packers still suck.
3. Rodgers will never be Farve no matter how hard you wish.
4. You suck, just like the Packers.

If things came easy, then everybody would be great at what they did, let's face it.
