Bernard Pollard Is The Man We Should Thank for Jay Cutler Being a Bear!
I know you can follow me...
Tom Brady goes down first game of the year after a "late" (I DO NOT think it was a cheap shot) hit delivered by Bernard Pollard. Brady is shut down for the season and lifetime backup, Matt Cassel is put in and remains the starter through an 11-5 season. They didn't make the playoffs although they should have under a better system, but Cassel earned a starting job on one of the 32 teams.
>> Fast Forward to the end of the season, the Patriots tagged Cassel, Scott Pioli left for K.C., and Josh McDaniels left for Denver. Obviously the Patriots are sure Tom Brady can come back and continue his dominance so they considered Cassel expendable for the price they were paying. Both Pioli and McDaniels wanted their former system quarterback to lead their new teams. Pioli was the one who landed his man for a...(ya ready for this)...2nd rounder!!!??? Talk about taking care of a friend. I hope Pioli sent The Hoodie a new camcorder for next season.
But that actually wasn't a bad thing, definitely not if your a Bears fan. Jay Cutler, THE PRO BOWLER, took it a little offensively. After already losing his head coach and his coordinator, both whom he was close with, he got word he was next in line to go. Just two full seasons as a starter and Denver was ready to show their franchise QB the door. So Cutler wanted a trade and he gave Denver the silent treatment, then said he didn't ignore them, then....it doesn't matter. A 25 year old pro bowler was unhappy and had to go.
>>About five weeks later, Jerry Angelo finally pulls the trigger for what Bears fans have been dreaming for, our very own franchise QB. Yesterday I had to keep telling myself it really happen because I still can't believe it's true. Jay Cutler is gonna be throwing bombs on the lakefront with a big orange C on his helmet. Sorry you lost your whole season Brady. But thank you Bernard Pollard, Chicago's been needing this, we love you man.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious. (Vince Lombardi)
Dude, for serious? 1986 was 23 years ago.
