Geeee?

Which one has a QB?

We know the answer to that one!

"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that." -- Jerry Angelo (12.30.2008)

Jerry Angelo trades for Jay Cutler! (4.2.2009)

Harvin will probably be doing some returning too.

Yes... true... but...

If you want to predict receiving.

Iglesias has a great opportunity to be on the field all the time, because of our weakness and lack of veterans at the position. Plus… he has a Pro Bowl QB!

Harvin has a bunch of scraps at QB, whether he sees the field a lot or or not.

I hear ya...

But I’m just talking about better season, not just receiving stats.

Last I checked

the viking had the worse Special teams unit in the league. I’m sure whatever Harvin does in the return game will be minimal at best.

Last I checked

they ranked 20th in KR and 24th in PR. And while that certainly ain’t the top of the league, it also certainly ain’t the worse (sic).

Ahh, so that makes you a fan of Rosenbloom, does it not?

Let me rephrase the first part of my first comment: last I checked, the Vikings special teams unit sucked Blue Whale balls.

Okay...

1- Your comment was in reply to mine, but I never said anything about him being a beast returner, and I can’t find anywhere on this thread where anyone said he would be.

2- We all know that just because someone did or didn’t do a particular thing in college does not always mean that it will be the exact same scenario or circumstance in the pros. For example:

he didn’t do it at Florida

No, he didn’t at Florida. He never attempted a single KR or PR at Florida. But he will almost assuredly be doing some kick returning for Minnesota, which was my original statement to Sack, which was also the statement you replied to.

Not Just Being a HOMER

I think Iglesius will have the better year because our offense should put him into position to make a lot of plays, Cutler should be able to get the ball to him easily, Harvin has a great chance of being a problem player and might not even make it through the season without a suspension, but the main reason is the Vikings don’t have a QB.

by BearFan611 on Apr 30, 2009 3:36 PM CDT reply actions

i was gonna say the same thing

I voted trying to not be a homer, but this was an easy answer. We have less options at WR, so he’s gonna get more balls than Percy will. Plus we got a QB in Cutler now that can throw the ball. That puts a smile on my face now that I can say that.

You should ask the Viqueens site to do the same poll

They haven’t posted in 24 hous over there, so it may be a while before we see if they do a similar poll..

I voted for Harvin

I want Iglesias to do better, but I think Harvin will have more opportunity to do well especially if he is involved with the return game.

Unreasonable people make life difficult...

by WisBearsFan34 on May 1, 2009 9:59 AM CDT up reply actions

I voted Harvin

I don’t like him nor want him to succeed, however, he is a very versatile play and could end up in some sort of “Wildcat” play series up in the Dome and I could see him being pretty dangerous out of that.

by Sam Householder on Apr 30, 2009 3:52 PM CDT reply actions

I think we'll get more for our money

We got s steal with Iglesias. I think Harvin will be okay, but he won’t meet expectations of that amazing receiver.

by aznsensation on Apr 30, 2009 3:55 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree with that

But in their rookie year? I could see Harvin being more effective.

by Sam Householder on Apr 30, 2009 4:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Havin will probably get injured since he's fragile.

Then we can call him Mr. Glass.

Because as far as we're concerned, there is still no team in the history of the NFL that could beat the '85 Bears.

I voted Iglesias

because I see Harvin having a season much like Devin’s first year at wide receiver and having trouble actually having to run routes, and him getting injured on a PR or KR due to his tendency to get hurt.

(Asshole Sr) "If you learn one thing here, NEVER pass out in Ohio."

by ThorCo on Apr 30, 2009 4:15 PM CDT reply actions

HOMERS

sorry but the Queens whooped us with Bernard Berrian… add Harvin to the mix and they are scary. I have said before that I think Harvin will be the RoY. I hope Iglesias is good and all but so far there is no indication he will be better regardless of the Jay factor

by No It All on Apr 30, 2009 4:55 PM CDT reply actions

I think Harvin's a tool

That said he has much more raw talent than Iglasias. He has the greater chance of making an immediate impact.

You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.

Harvin

May be in jail before the season even starts.

by Bearsguy34 on Apr 30, 2009 9:53 PM CDT reply actions

I say iglesias also because

I truly believe his receiving stats will be better simply because i predict he will have more oppurtunities. The only thing that will ride on Harvin Iglesias out will be his special teams play if he can take some to the house. I just don’t see him being that much a threat with the Vikings QB carousel.
