Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

A Moment With Ifuwanna:Should We(Can We) Trade For The Number One Pick? UPDATE: Breaking News On Kyle Orton

The Lions don't want it, the Broncos Didn't Want it, you'd be hard pressed to find any team that wants it. As if getting Jay cutler wasn't enough, all that media attentions has me jonesin for another fix.

And with that comes the question, should the Bears make a run for the first overall pick in the draft? If so, how do we pry it away from division rival Detroit? I doubt they have any ammo left to pull that one off. But word on the street is, the Lions are desperate to get rid of it, and if they could before draft day, they would.

Aaron Curry, Mike Crabtree, Jason Smith, Brian Orakpo the list goes on with who Chicago could draft. OK, OK, who am I kidding. We ALL know if we get the 1st pick, we'd want Crabtree or Maclin.

UPDATE: NECKBEARD IS NO MORE!!! Plus Devin Hester Jockey's for Torry Holt: Link

I said no

It’d cost too much, and unless we want to go OL, no one is worth it at that point.

Way too much money

for unproven rookies in the top 20.

yeah

I’m especially convinced there’s nobody in this draft deserves to be the number 1.

If they could somehow trade up to the 6th or 8th range, I'd go for that.

But only if Maclin or Crabtree were available.

Viva la nuance! Reading comprehension rules!!!

Seconded

I think Crabtree will be there after 5 and before 10. So if we could wind up in that range it wouldnt cost us as much as 1 would as far as the trade itself is concerned. And the player would cost less in contract as well.

So should we at the least trade up back into the first to get a WR?

or just wait for the best to fall on our lap in the second. Or we could swap second round picks if say Nicks is there

Yes!

and he has hands the size of a catchers mitt. 10 3/4"

For me

it’s Britt in the 2nd or Barden in the 3rd. Where we pick in the bottom of the 3rd they will probably both be gone. Barden would be a reach in the 2nd if Britt was still there.

Robiskie in the 2nd?

if Britt isn’t there … I really like this kid and think he would be a good fit.

a reach

for sure. based on the scouting report he needs a lot of work on route running etc. we’ve got receivers currently going through the same growing pains … we need a dude who can coach these guys up.

The Bears couldn't trade into the top spot

if they traded all their picks this year and next, based on the trade value chart. Dumb post.

DEJESUS!!!

I voted Hell Naw

Just because it said Hell Naw, but really no. Uh huh. Nope.

If things came easy, then everybody would be great at what they did, let's face it.

What would you trade?

Seriously…What would you trade? There is nothing.

There is probably no combination of picks that could do it…And I don’t think we want to trade Hester, Forte and Olsen for it…
