WCG Mock Draft - The Washington Redskins Select...

ANALYSIS: The Washington Redskins offensive line was bad (38 sacks allowed) and old (LT Chris Samuels was their youngest starting O-Lineman at 31) last year. While a linebacker such as Brian Cushing of USC will be looked at here in order to replace the aging London Fletcher, the line is a much bigger concern. Simply put, the right side of the Redskins line stinks. Jon Jansen was a great tackle for a long time, but he is now only a shell of his former self. While Andre Smith may have significantly hurt his draft stock in the last few months with his unimpressive workouts and questionable off field behavior, he still has the talent to be a franchise tackle, holding down a line for a long time. He was an all-SEC selection last year as a sophomore and an all- american this year as well as the recipient of the Outland Trophy. His college resume speaks for itself, and to get such an accomplished player at the 13th pick would be a steal for the Redskins. |

Andre Smith has incredible upside potential.
He has all-pro talent, and could very possible be a perennial pro bowler. His downside potential is even bigger. Smith lost himself millions of dollars with his combine and pro day workouts… I like this pick here. Teams probably will be scared to pay him top-10 money with all of the question marks.

I agree
Even the best looking draft picks can bust, and you just never know with these kids… still, he’s worth a pick at this level in the draft.
This kid could have been the top guy gone this year if he had just kept his eyes on the prize.

I wouldn't touch him with YOUR pick!
I would be suprised if he goes in the top 20 with his issues and poor showing at the combine/pro day. Then again I am not a gambling man. I might be tempted to risk 3rd round money. Who knows what those man boobies might do for a locker room.
