Sometimes, even making it to training camp is a struggle for some draft picks.

Jeff Dickerson discusses whether or not LB Pino Tinoisamoa would be a good fit for the Bears.

linked to one of the above links…(sorry), the professor is claiming that gaines is waiting on a playbook(paraphrased)… and as far as Tinoisamoa is concerned, i’ve seen his weight go from 220-240#, depending on where you look. at 240, i think he’d beat out both hillenmeyer and roach… at 220, i say we play him at safety… well, it couldn’t hurt.
Why not try Pino Tinoisamoa at safety? Seems he's perfect size for the position.
While I appreciate upgrading any position the team, I’d really like to see the Bears address the safety position. If they can’t find a replacement for Mike Brown by training camp I suggest they bring him back, since he still wants to play. If the Marinelli defensive line lives up to expectations Mike Brown could once again be extremely effective (and he knows the defense inside out). I think his injuries have just been bad luck and injuries are always a possibility with someone who plays all out, all the time. Mike’s leadership on the field will be hard to replace and I think most fans would welcome him back.
As a linebacker, wouldn’t his first instinct (were he to switch to safety) be to play the run? How good are his coverage skills? Strong safety would appear to be a better fit than free safety and, as you point out, the latter is what we really need.
no doubt...
we’re set at SS. also, just found out that the rams tried that little experiment back in ‘05, moving him to SS and archuleta to FS… yah…ummm…no. guess i should’ve done my homework before throwing that out there.
Move On Already
Guys, Mike Brown was a good player for us but he’s past his prime, get over it. He hasn’t stayed on the field for the last 3-4 years. You’ll never develop anyone else if you keep living in the past. As “Coach” says, “living in the past is for cowards and losers”!!!
Seriously, taking a guy from linebacker and trying to make him a safety??? Do you really think that would put us in a better position than we are now? Give the young guys a chance and also take a look at the wire as we get into training camp. Another project is the last thing you need at that position.
i do recall drafting a safety...
that turned into a REALLY good LB!!!

We signed Michael Gaines
