According to my recent issue of SI, Adrian Peterson is toying with the idea of adding extra weight.
As of now AP is 6'1" 218 and he would like to add 12 more pounds by training camp. He believes that adding the extra weight will help him absorb punishment better. The result being less injury time and more time on the field. On the flip side other's quoted in the article such as Duce McCallister and LT say that the added weight could lead to him being more injury prone. Also the added weight could diminish some of his quickness.
AP would like to be more of a bruiser than he already is. I for one think he's an awesome back with an enormous amount of talent. Even if he does play for the Viqueens you have to respect his ability and his almost wreckless abandoment that he plays with. I don't know if him putting on the added weight would make him into a better player/more punishing runner, but it is something worth talking about.
So do you think AP would be more or less dangerous with the added weight?
Will he be more prone to injury?
