I wonder how long the clip would have been if it were only his Bears highlights?

by Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. on May 18, 2009 1:04 PM CDT reply actions

About as long as Cedric's would be

But at least Wolfe doesn’t cost us 80 gajillion dollars to be non-productive.

09 Roster?!?

With the staff wanting to find a way to utilize Wolfe this year, could we be seeing an end to Adrian Peterson with the Bears? He’s a stud on ST, but is that enough?

Also, we have Hester, Bennett, Davis, Iglesias, Knox, Kinder, Riddeau and Peterman. Assuming the stars align and Davis is gone and we don’t add a veteran – who else is out? Peterman? Kinder? Do we keep six receivers this year?

Hmm

A few weeks back there was a thread discussing the AP vs. GW issue. Everybody seemed pretty split on the issue. Both are great Special Teamers and stand up individuals.

I think, just the early guess, that the Bears do keep six receivers this year and Peterman and Kinder or Knox will end up being the odd men out.. Also the stars don’t align and Davis will stay. Not because I want him too, but because if we don’t sign a Veteran WR than that will make Davis our most experienced pass dropper.

Let’s hope the stars do align for Bennett and Iglesias in training camp. If those to inspire enough confidence, than maybe the Davis era will come to an end.

My fingers are crossed.

Hahaha! That deserves a rec :)

My fingers are crossed.

You know, perhaps that’s why Davis drops so many passes. His fingers are, too…..

Nice

I love GWolfe. I’m sure Bears fans would have a much bigger appreciation for him if Turner wouldn’t run him straight up the middle so much. His size counts him out as a feature back, but he is always good for some decent yardage on screens.

Too bad he didn't play under Jauron

Since we ran the screen (unsuccessfully) on every every single freakin third down. Which was preceded by Thomas dive right (1st down) and Thomas dive right again (2nd down). Occasionally he let one of his 23 piss-poor QB’s throw a crossing route to the other team just to keep from being predictable.

I was at that BSU-NIU game

I will never forget it, 353 yds for Wolfe and he would have had 400-some yards if two 40+ TDs run had not been called back. Two of my friends came down from NIU and were going on and on about how awesome he was. Good times.

That was an amazing game

Wolfe was so ridiculous I though I was watching a video game on the easiest difficulty level. I remember joking with GG that the Bears needed to draft him. Too bad we haven’t done anything with him yet.

His slipperiness

seems similar to that of our #23. I didn’t quite see the burst, but the elusiveness was certainly there.

College beast

It doesn’t change the fact that the Bears and Turner have no idea how to utilize him.

Is it just me,

or does GW look a lot like Harvin did at Florida?

Umm...

Did he ever play through a broken leg to put up the game-winning performance of a National Championship?

Ugh.

Just his running style dude.

Good call

I really don’t think that Turner knows how to best use Wolf in our offense either. Plus our O-line hasn’t been making a lot of down field blocks the past couple years.

Out of curiosity, how do you think that playing against 3-4 defenses would effect Wolfe? Do you think that he would do better, worse, or no significant difference?

by Fridge72 on May 18, 2009 4:46 PM CDT up reply actions

couldn't agree more with that

Turner somehow thinks running Wolfe between the tackles is something that he can do successfully … not that it can’t happen once in a while, but the dude needs space and to be in the open field to make plays. He should be used like an H-back, line him up in the slot on occasion.
