The Bears Den - 5/27/09

Bear_s-den_medium

....where we want your best one-liner for the 5/28 version of The Den.

In The Den

Chicago Sun Times

Brad Biggs had this story prior to Rod Hood signing with the Browns about the possible contracts for Pisa Tinoisamoa and Hood.

Biggs also believes that the Bears' injury concerns at CB has them doing some late shopping.

The Bears are hoping to have their draft picks signed by mid-June.

Mayor Daley defends the amusement tax.

Apparently, the Patriots are looking at another LB of note.

Chicago Tribune

It looks like the Bears will have to fight with the Patriots for Tinoisamoa.

ESPN Chicago

Jeff Dickerson dips into the mailbag and makes a long story out of it.

Matt Jones to Chicago? Dickerson discusses whether it's worth it.

The Bears Den

where even the sight of cheese makes us angry.
where we’ve all had at least one Milwaukee chick, but no ones willing to admit it.

I like it. I’m off to glare at some cheddar in my fridge.

we should be on the Pisa signing watch any minute now.

by ifuwannacrownem on May 27, 2009 7:47 AM CDT up reply actions

Ya, we should.

Let’s say he signs. Does that mean the end for LaRoque, Williams, Roach, or Hillenmeyer? Who?

by rdent4hof on May 27, 2009 8:04 AM CDT up reply actions

It might

end up going down to the old dartboard method. Probably not Hillenmeyer because of seniority, but then again he’s probably got the bigger contract.Vetty Vetty Eant-er-Resting.

by IslandBoodler87 on May 27, 2009 8:07 AM CDT up reply actions

Jamar Williams Isn't going anwhere

I have a feeling that He’s a wildcard, because coaches like him so much. Larry Mayer recently wrote on his “chalk talk” session that Williams Stood out among everybody else at OTAs.
LaRoque and Roach are solid on special teams.
In my estimation Hillenmeyer is the odd man out.

… seem like the logical choice.

From Pat Kirwan's Ten wide receivers poised to make a Breaston-like jump in '09

2. Mark Bradley, Kansas City Chiefs: The arrival of Matt Cassel will expand the passing game and the departure of Tony Gonzalez will raise the opportunities for other Chiefs receivers. Teams will roll their coverage to Dwayne Bowe, and Bradley should see a spike in his production as a result.

Raise your hands if you wish Bradley was still on the Bears (raises both hands)

No kidding

Bradley may be more talented than Davis.. but at least we know Sheed will be on the field every week. Hard to count on someone whos always hurt.

by Allie on May 27, 2009 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions

You Know What?

I raise my hand. Yes he was injury prone, but damnit he always ended up making plays. I will never forget the Jets game during 2006 when he scored the only TD of the game.

by Sam Householder on May 27, 2009 2:07 PM CDT up reply actions

Indeed

Year after year, he’s always included in some kind of list about players expected to take a huge leap. Todd Haley thought well enough of him in while he was in dallas to want him in the second round, and thinks well enough of him now to keep him as starter opposite Bowe.

Think With Your Dipstick Jimmy!

by ifuwannacrownem on May 27, 2009 4:07 PM CDT up reply actions

I always liked Bradley

and thought the Bears should have stuck with him a little longer. This is what upsets me about this coaching staff, they seem to get their favorites and, conversely, get down on certain other guys, then never move off of those initial impressions. Bradley was deemed injury prone from the start and, perhaps with reason, but I thought he had upper echelon talent. You hate to lose guys like that. As always, we’re not with him everyday and seeing what his work habits and commitment are, so I guess we have to take Lovie’s word for it.
