Bears Extend Idonije For 2 years

Iidonije_medium

Well, I'm glad that's done with. Idonije gets a 2 year extension worth about $7 million.

Good move by the Bears...he has played really well, and is incredbly versatile on the line. Good use of the money we have available. I think he's a much better investment than 'Wale, who I really hope we don't extend, or resign. According to the article, it looks like we've also signed most of our draft picks...top 3 picks still have to sign, though.

Good news

I thought that we were going to sign Izzy before the season. I still hope that they make Wale play through the season before they even start negotiations with him. From what I heard I think he is fine with that.

Good on the Bears for not letting this wait.

Be nice. Flag comments that you think are offensive. Use the "reply" button. Drink plenty of water. Compliment others. Rec comments and posts you like. Don't call people names. If you don't like someone's comment, attack the comment and not the commentor. Learn the difference in your/you're, then/than, to/too. Exercise. Relax. Stretch often. Find good in the world.

Good move

Idonje is a decent versatile and valuable performer on that defensive line.

Awww, come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings ...

I see...

Just read Biggs’ breakdown. He is keeping his 2009 base pay ($1.75M) getting an extra bonus this year of $2M which is guaranteed and then extending the contract for 2010 of $2.5M of which $1M is guaranteed. His base pay in 2011 is also $2.5M but none is guaranteed. That’s a pretty sweet deal for Izzy but fine for the Bears too.

my man kaiser...

I agree – pretty sweet deal for Izzy and for the Bears. 2/3 of the guaranteed is against this years cap – where we definitely have room. Not too bad.

Also, officially on your side with the Izzy move now – I still thought he was a beast in the middle, but him dropping that much weight and the new deal has definitely changed my perspective. So on that note… I’m your biotch!

Extension

Move Izzy to DE. Get rid of Wale for the extra cap space and sign Jones.

Haha

The ‘Rents.. I like it. :) As long as we don’t play like G-rents! :D

I’m leaving for home here soon too. Won’t be back until Monday most likely, the parents have dial-up because of how far in the boonies they live… :( Lol. Enjoy your weekend, all!

I hope his playing time increases… I’d like to see his production with more snaps

Very Happy with this move.

Izzy is just that type of player that every championship team needs. He would do anything for the Bears and that’s what it’s all about.

This is good news

But I’m sure that’s been said already. :)

Somebody should make a comic called "Tulowitzki the Combat Shortstop". I'd read it.

good move

It is not a flashy move but it is the kind of move championship teams make, under the radar moves that strengthen the team. Idonjie can play anywhere along the front four, that makes a him very valuable.
