Why the hell...
… does Biggs say Davis has a spot on the roster? He basically said it is a done deal. Davis will be a Bear this year. PUKE!!
Sadly
I do think that Davis stays only because he can play ST and has “experience” in the system….cant have all these rooks on the roster with out a vet to guide them….or that would be reasoning for keeping him….

Knox looks good
Vaughn McClure says if Knox continues to improve don’t be surprised to see him give Rashied Davis competition in the slot…..Venus de Mailo has better hands than Rashied!!!
You mean "Dropsy" Davis?
"The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt." - Bertrand Russell
I think Cutler will have some influence
on who he want’s to throw to. He has no real bond to Davis so he might be out of the mix.
BTW
for those wondering about how they end up with all these vandy players….Sun times had a article that talked about how the SE head scout has a wife that is the academic counselor at vandy….but thats just a coincidence….
What do all his other wives do?
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that." -- Jerry Angelo (12.30.2008)
Jerry Angelo trades for Jay Cutler! (4.2.2009)
.
Interesting article from Pompei
He seems like an honest and hard working reporter – if his column is correct, JA may be in line for some apologies from his sportswriting critics (and fans) who thought he wasn’t trying hard enough to land Bouldin and others in the draft.
Pompei is really good
He’s the best reporter the Trib has, IMO.
Regarding JA and the draft rumors….having a good QB changes everything, meaning he can call in for those kind of high-powered moves. At the same time, we really didn’t have a lot to give up. He could have easily given up the 2011 1st round pick, but that reeks of hijacking our future to win now.

I like what I read
About our receivers. It’s rookie camp and it means absolutely zero but at least they are catching the ball. Last year Forte was the stand out at rookie camp, so we’ll see.

Wow
I don’t ever read Bob Verdi anymore. When did he become such a windbag?
Great Googly Moogly!!!
Three teams were interested in the Bears’ 49th pick. One was offering a 2010 first-round pick straight up. The Bears were ready to do the deal. But then the player the other team wanted was taken by someone else. Deal off.
(emphasis mine)
WOW. Now that would have been one hell of a deal. As it turned out, I think the one we got was pretty good, and I like the guys we got out of it, but if we could have gotten a first rounder back for next year—when the draft is said to be better? That would have been dy-no-mite. Too bad it didn’t happen.
As for Paxson…I think you have to say things have been going pretty well for him lately. Remember, a lot of people at the time said he should have drafted Beasley—how’s that looking now? And all of his midseason trades have looked great, with the possible exception of Sefalohsa who would have been useful after Deng went down—but that could still work out. The only thing you could probably dock him for in the last year or two would be the Ben Gordon fiasco—but that’s probably on Reinsdorf, not Paxson.
True
At the same time, let’s not forget that Pax got INCREDIBLY lucky getting the #1 overall pick. Imagine a Derrick Rose-less Bulls. Not a pretty sight, huh?
However, I do realize that Pax isn’t the one pulling the strings and, IMO, running the Bulls into mediocrity. That goes to Reinsdorf.
