Johnny "Know" Knox To Get Shot at the Slot?

Knox_medium

Could the rookie wide receiver out of Abilene Christian be the Bears answer at the slot receiver position?  Could he be the one to finally rid us of the Dropopotamus?

Looks like he could get his shot.  Coach Lovie Smith praised Knox even though he has never played in the slot before.

Knox appeared to be comfortable and by all accounts shone during a 2-day mini camp. And yes, I know it was just a mini camp.

Well that'd help too

Is HB going to have to proof all of the bossman’s posts from now on?

by Allie on May 5, 2009 2:48 PM CDT up reply actions

You might have to help me

Ya know, I’ve been his editor for a while. And if he can’t get their names right, I’m just going to turn them into nicknames, thus the title. No matter if bossman takes it down, I’ll put it right back up. :)

Lol.

It’ll be like grading students’ papers! Except that he’s not elementary-age. Hmmm… lol Who would do better, one of my 4th graders or WCG? :P

I agree

I think if he can improve the way he should that he could be a good slot guy for us and way better than Dropapotamous.

by Sam Householder on May 5, 2009 2:06 PM CDT reply actions

Good post, I agree

Knox in the slot is an intriguing possibility. That would put two major speed threats on the field and really stretch the defense and allow us to run or hit someone (Bennett?) coming on an underneath route. Also makes for some interesting run after the catch possibility because we all know what Hester can do with the ball in space, maybe know can use his speed and small stature to do the same. A+ for Lovie if he gives Knox a shot.

i don't care if 53 rookies make the roster...

i just want the best guy in that position, playing that position!!! if “know” is that good, then let him play… he can’t be any worse than the above mentioned receiver was.

sorry...

couldn’t resist the “know”… poor guy, nobody gets his name right.

That's his new WCG nickname.

Thank me later :)

Because it's a pain in the ass

on a long thread to find out who’s replying to who if you don’t hit the button. It’s so simple to do and saves everyone work.

better than calling him Knowville

2 weeks ago we would have all been calling him "Whoville"

Just as long as we don’t have to see Rashied on the field, I’m happy. As I referenced in another post, he couldn’t even catch Swine Flu if he French kissed a pig!!!!

Dropapotamous 101

You could give him a pair of baseball mitts and he still couldn’t catch a football..in fact, Davis is so bad that he’s like the anti-ho…he couldn’t catch an STD if he tried.

by Pretender85 on May 5, 2009 3:26 PM CDT reply actions

well is it really that easy

to catch a football with a baseball mitt. Dont think so. not that im making excuses for Dropapotamous, hes the odd man out though this year. His 15 minutes are up and back to the Arena League he shall go.

we all know he can break up passes… it just never dawned on me that he could do it on the defensive side of the ball.

by windycity72 on May 6, 2009 6:06 AM CDT up reply actions

I like the look of 13 on a jersey.

As long as he can catch and hold on through hits, he’s in.

by bdalebs on May 5, 2009 4:54 PM CDT reply actions

I wanna see him return Punts and then.....

even kickoffs too. If you have 3 dangerous return guys that you can interchange without missing a beat, then that would be a sick. We just have to see first how he takes contact, you can be a home run hitter at return man, but if you cough up the ball one in every 5 hits then it could be problems.
