One more free agent WR off the market

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that former Detroit, St Louis, Indianpolis, and Arena League WR/DB Mike Furrey has signed with Cleveland. That would be one more marginal receiver who is way better than Rashied Davis that is no longer available. I'll post the link below for anyone who's interested, but I somehow doubt anyone cares that much. It is Mike Furrey after all...

Always thought

that Furrey was a decent football player. A month ago, I was kinda hoping that the Bears were going to sign him. He has good intangibles.

I like him too

But we have enough #2/#3 WR’s and need more #1’s

Agreed

Before we signed Omiyale, Shaffer, and Pace. I thought it would be a good idea, I agree with you that if we were going to sign a FA it would only be worth it for a #1.

Still think that Furrey would perform better than Dropapatomus in the slot. Looks like we might get a chance to see what Knox can do there. That’ll be fun to watch.

That may be

But I’ve seen traffic cones that could out-perform Davis.

I hate to admit it

But I’m strangely excited about our WR’s this year. Especially Bennett, Knox, & Iglesias. If they can really contribute this season and Hester can at least match last years numbers we should have a good season offensively.

It must be the residue of the warm glow I felt when we acquired Cutler.

I'm optimistic as well

I’m not sure if I really think or just really want; but I think that Bennett will really do well this year. I’m with you on Iglesias and Knox. I like Iglesias more than Massaquoi, I’m glad we were able to get him.

Agreed

Im super excited about Knox the most. The kid just looked toooo good in his highlight films. Catches with his hands like you are supposed to. Has amazing speed and seems to run pretty good routes. I think hes gonna be a good one.

i'm sure i mentioned this before somewhere...

but neither mario mannignham nor limus sweed saw the field either(well, ten catches between the two). i think we’ll be fine at WR. too many tangibles for us not to be.

And Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas

Both drafted in the second round last year by the ’Skins. And on that note, one of those guys would be pretty interesting if we could get them in a trade.
