Just When You Thought It Was Over...Brett says NAH UH!

NFL Networks Scott Hanson has refuted reports by Yahoo Sports reporter Rick Schwartz that Brett Favre has decided to stay retired. Hanson has countered that Favre has not ruled out retirement and that he has actually had conversations with Vikings head coach Brad Childress.
Form what we(as in the whole planet) knows, Favre has not came out publicly to relay his future plans, which in essence, means he's more likely to play in 2009.
And that's just the point. This IS NOT a matter of "mulling it over". If Favre wanted to stay retired, He would have came out and said so long before the rumors blew out of proportion. This is clearly a case of a man with an inflated sense of purpose trying to be the highlight of one of the most suspenseful offseasons in recent memory.
Word of advice: Until he says otherwise, Expect Brett Favre to suit up for the '09 season.
UPDATE: Favre has sent his shoulder X-Rays to the Vikings

Lol... Great.
I don’t know who to distrust more… Favre or PFT. I don’t believe either of them.
That being said, there was a report out in the last day or so that said Brett was open to having a tenotomy… a surgery that would reattach the torn tendon in his throwing arm. That would be a surgery that would be healed by July’s camp.

This was actually reported by NFL Networks
But PFT is pretty reliable…sometimes. But yeah I heard about that.

Might as well throw out some other links as well...
And from the World Wide Leader.

Shoot me in the head please...
I wouldn’t care so much what Favre ends up doing if EVERYONE in the sporting world, from ESPN to some 40 year old guy blogging from his parent’s basement, wasn’t so fixated on reporting every single thing that Favre says/does (or in the case, doesn’t say/doesn’t do). Makes me sick.

Agreed
I’m not a Favre hater, I don’t like the guy b/c he had his way against us for awhile, but I respect him b/c he’s one of the best QB’s/ players to ever step on the field. But damn am I tired of hearing about all this shit. Personally I don’t care if he sits his ass at home for the rest of his life or comes back to play. However, I don’t think he’ll be the “savior” that gets the Vikes to the SB if he comes back to play for them, I just don’t see it happening.
"The phone's for you, I think it's the Devil."
I want him to do both
I want him to go the hell away, but at the same time I’d love to see him ruin the Vikings.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
I just want him to decided so it can be done and over with

He's already decided
But like I said, I think It’s all apart of his annual publicity stunt. He knows he has the media in his back pocket which makes it all the more sweeter.

He'll never be done tho
That’s the problem. No matter how big of a joke he turns into, he’ll do this all the time.

I was waiting for someone to say something about that

Wcg is 62, so he evens it out to 40 I reckon.

Actually...
I averaged the ages of every single member of WCG and oddly enough it came out to exactly 40.

Perfect Pic
for the post. Favre will never be able to go away. He loves the game to much and I suspect is having to hard of a time letting go of it. It’s annoying, but I do have a hard time blaming him for it. Especially as it hasn’t hurt the Bears at all.
Nice fan post ifuwanna and nice pic..
Favre story came back alive faster than I thought it would. Almost a Michael Meyers or Jason type of characteristic that just won’t f’n die. You can shoot it, stab it, strangle it..so on and so forth…it just keeps f’n coming back. The picture displayed is exactly how I feel although much more and I will be willing to stick a fork n my eye. Ex-rays probably show some curdled cheese in the old man’s arm.

Inflated sense of himself
I used to respect and somewhat like Favre, but I now believe he won’t retire until he suffers a devastating injury and has to be carted off the field. He needs to go away very soon.

I'm not even sure that could stop him
I think as long as there’s a team that wants him as a starter, he’ll be out there every sunday. Like jeez! this guy was playing in his prime when Marino, Montana, Elway, and Young were still around, and that felt like ages ago. Give it a rest would ya?
I’m sure we won’t have to worry about future NFL on CBS analyst Peyton Manning pulling this stunt.

Diana
I wonder what’s going on behind the scenes with her and Brett. I hope she finally puts her foot down and says “Brett, this is rediculous, let’s stop with all these shenanigans and go about our lives!”

If Brett can not decide
Maybe he should consult the old Magic 8 Ball….
