Bears Sign Jarron Gilbert and Juaquin Iglesias

Jgilbert_medium

Mimicking a feat they achived in 2006 and have been close a few other times in recent years, the Bears are the first team in the NFL to have all their draft picks signed. This year was a bit easier, having a third rounder as our highest pick.

The Bears have agreed to 4-year deals with Jarron Gilbert and Juaquin Iglesias. Terms are not available yet.

Nice work Stein, JA and company

With nothing to do…maybe they can check in on a certain criminal case in NY.

hmmmm

That would be nice, but I am a curious sort and would rally like to see how these guys pan out. Probably wont make me a well liked person, but I did fall on my head as a child.

I posted this in the other thread

But I thought I remember reading awhile back that the Bears had like 79 players under contract and that after we signed the last two we’d need to cut some guys. Any truth in that or if any one was cut today??

No word on if anyone was cut today

I believe this to be true:

We were at 78 with the Pisa signing…..now we’re sitting at 80.

does anyone have a list of the dates that the cuts need to be in by leading up to the final cut.

Sept. 1st for 75 players

And Sept. 5th is the final 53-man roster deadline.

The key off-season dates article has been updated.

It is on the left hand sidebar, and here (pops)

a punter

they’re going to have to cut someone to make room for a punter who won’t even make the team in the end. doesn’t really make sense to me but that’s what i’ve read. can’t dave toub boot some balls down the field every now and then? really, how many punts do we need in training camp? i think hester’s problem last year was the running it back part, not so much the catching.

saving his leg that's all...

it’s common… a lot of teams do it just so that their kicker/punter isn’t kicking all day while ST is practicing.

Gilbert is apparently

still confused about the old cliche “use your head”.

Gilbert: Hey, coach, can I use your phone? Lance gave me the numbers of these two chicks he met in Hawaii!!

Lovie: Did he also take you driving in his Lambo? [implied that the crash caused brain damage]

Jarron Gilbert has my attention

I think the Bears might have landed themselves a solid and much needed lineman with Gilbert. I like this kid a lot.

You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little messed up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

willie= w**d...

maybe that’s what we’ll call it from now on… hoping some of my fellow “willie-heads” will chime in… maybe it’ll make the WCG dictionary!

I was saying "don't lie"

because you and I know, you were already thinking of w**d. Willie just fueled the fire. (pun intended)
