Windy City Survivor Pool (Offsite)

[Note by WCG, 08/04/09 10:33 AM EDT ]We are getting close.  I was asked to bump this up to remind you if you are interested.  Also, stay tuned an Official Fantasy Football Post will be coming.  I know there has been some talk and some might have already been started, but we'll get a full head count and go from there.

One of our users, FAQ, runs an offsite Survivor Pool (not associated with WCG).  It is a buy in league if you are interested, read below and email him.

We will be starting the Windy City Survivor Pool in a few months and I'm starting to round up emails to send out details to anyone interested.  Our pot last year was ~$1200 with a $30 buy-in.  For those that aren't familiar with knock-out or survivor pools, the basic idea is that you pick ONE team per week to win.  If they win, you can continue to play the following week, but you may not pick that team for the rest of the season.  If you lose, you're done with the pool although there will be options to buy back in.  Winner is the last guy standing.  Anyone interested should email windycitydeathpool@gmail.com and I will be sending out a detailed email that fully explains all the rules, where to send your buy-in, how to sign up, how you get paid, etc.  We have a website that won't be updated til August when we start enrolling new members.  However, feel free to peruse it and see how last year went down.  The URL ishttp://windycitypool.survivor.sportsfan.com.  If you sign up to get the email and decide you want me to quit emailing you, just let me know!  I'm not out to bother or spam anyone and giving me your address now just means you'll get the league intro/signup email in a few months.  I read this blog and post on this blog (different email/username) and would love to have some more participants from the Chicago area.  It's a pretty fun game to play and because it's only one pick per week, it doesn't suck up quite as much time as regular fantasy football.  Thanks guys and I hope to hear from many of you!

haha

yeah, i think the most successful guys picked against the rams and detroit the whole season. the guy that won is a friend of mine, he’s not on this site. but you can check out the website to see how it went. basically after about 4 or 5 weeks, most people were eliminated.

these pools are harder than most people think...

we were actually able to run 2 of them last year because nobody was left by mid-season.. still, extremely fun, especially if it’s a decent pot!!!

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.

No doubt

We had a small group that survived for a long time, but most people were gone in a few weeks. Our pool ended last year in week 15, I think. Email me and sign up! Or bring your buddies from the other pool and let’s make this thing huge.
