Urlacher calls Cutler a p**sy?

Aparently, Urlacher and Bobby Wade did some talking and Brian expressed a certain opinion of Cutler that Bobby Wade thought necessary to express to the media. Personally, I doubt this is the truth but thought everyone might get a kick out of the article. Check it out.

Link.

What is your take on this? Maybe Wade is trying to divert some negative attention the Vikings will be receiving soon based on Favre's refusal to become a Queen. Talk amongst yourselves.

Wade is an ass.

True or not true, Wade is in the wrong on this one. Sounds like he’s trying to stir the ship, but jokes on him. Last time the Bears offensive and defensive units were at odds(Ditka vs. Ryan), there was some shufflin goin on…..

My Take

Wether he did say it or not is of little consequense. I’m sure after a few beers Brian calls most Quarterbacks by that name. Bobby Wade will do anything to take the spotlight off the ass of the Vikings organization. The less we respond to this the better for the Bears. Let’s keep the spotlight where it belongs.

Who knows how it went down?

There is no telling what the context was (not that there are many or any flatttering contexts for “bitch” or “p***y.” But it could be harmless in a sarcastic way or it’s been such a long offseason that this trip could have happened in February or March well before the Cutler trade and all the details when media perception and Urlacher hadn’t met Cutler yet. A lot of people thought Cutler was kind of a whiner at first. I tried to find a podcast clip on that site but couldn’t.
Besides, as stated before Wade sucks and is a bitch as a return man when fumbled, muffed and all-out sucked anytime he was back there. Thank you Wade for sucking so bad we drafted Hester to replace you.

by Sam Householder on Jul 29, 2009 2:13 PM CDT reply actions

I thought the phrasing

was something like, “said he was a KITTY for the most part…”

That “for the most part” is what’s known as a QUALIFIER. In other words, a KITTY way to say something.

Also means it’s a buncha baloney on rye with pickles and mustard.

Plus—I’m willing to bet Urlacher feels that way about ALL QBs…(except maybe Jimmy Mac)

by Amishbear on Jul 29, 2009 2:28 PM CDT reply actions

And now Tommie Harris

has weighed in (via tweet) that it’s totally untrue.

I hope Lovie puts a complete cease & desist on all this garbage for the start of camp…This is Viqueen crap, the Bears don’t it.

Stay focused.

by Amishbear on Jul 29, 2009 2:44 PM CDT reply actions

REALLY?

Are you insinuating that BEARS and there fans take the HIGH ROAD? You guys arn’t eagles/raiders fans but you are close to the bottom when it comes to being ass’s to visitors in your stadium. I am living proof of that. And your team even won the game that day and your FANS WERE a bunch of asses. Throwing beer/ should of wipped out the badge just for that. The one thing I noticed that day was NOT one fan threw their food. Just beer and vulgarity.

And why should we pay for the sins of another?

Is this your way of getting payback for a bad experience? I’m sure most of us can come up with an experience we had visiting another stadium, I know I have a few stories. But I don’t generalize the entire fan base because of a few morons. Get over it.

670 has reported

that this comment was preempted by a physical altercation at OTA’s, at which Urlacher had to be restrained by four big Bears players, yes they said actually said BIG Bears players.

by dakoose on Jul 29, 2009 2:56 PM CDT reply actions

So What Does This Mean dakoose?

Urlacher with his bad neck and million dollar contract extention has a problem sharing the spotlight with Jay? I mean seriously this guy has underperformed for 2 years now. I hope that’s not true that hey went after our new QB in OTA’s, that’s garbage if he did that.

Me too.

It’s obvious that the Vikes hate the fact that we got Cutler (if they had gotten him, I’d hate it too), but the fact that the media is still hounding on Jay blows my mind.

I guess a franchise QB playing for the Bears disrupts the balance of the media universe.

and is running out of time to get a super bowl ring. I doubt he would try and go after anybody on his team especially someone who could have already given him that ring had he been a bear at the time.

I'm glad

he squashed this publicly…because otherwise—to the media—silence can be construed as consent/an admission of truth…

He did the best thing, which was laugh it off.

(Now Harris weighing in, on the other hand…that’s fueling the fire…)

And the whole “being restrained” thing? Utter pigspit, as we thought. Forgot about the whole groin thing, too….

by Amishbear on Jul 29, 2009 4:01 PM CDT reply actions

I'm glad Urlacher laughed the whole thing off

but to put things into perspective, Dan Hampton hated Jim McMahon, but neither really cared about the personal feelings as long as the performance on the field was there. It obviously had no affect on how those teams went about their business and if if this team has any character, it shouldn’t make any difference to them either, even if it were true.

Exactly, Cutler could be the next Mother Theresa but

if he can’t hit his receivers or throws interceptions everytime he gets into the Red Zone, no one is going to want him around. On the other hand, as long as he’s not breaking the law, he can be the world’s biggest jerk, but if he wins us some playoff games and eventually a Super Bowl, he’ll be idolized in Chicago.

Well, maybe he met him and formed his own opinion about Jay. Everyone doesn’t share the same philosophy about any player and Jay isn’t any different. Just like all fans don’t like all players…all players don’t like their teammates. My parents had an old saying-don’t hate the messenger, be angry at the person who planted the seed. Even if he did play for the bears, he had nothing to gain from saying this. They asked him a question and he answered. People may not like what he said, but that doesn’t make him a bad person. If Urlacher said it, then this will teach him a lesson, if you don’t want it repeated then don’t say it.

Wade

was just name dropping—trying to prove he had some popular friends.

Oh, and trying to cause drama.

My worry is not what the players really think about each other…it’s the corrosive effect of the 24-hour news cyle internet rumor-mongering world we live in, and how THAT can disrupt/distract a team…

In other words, I don’t like the idea of the Bears fueling the media—that’s Viking type crap. Beneath us.

Bobby Wade

Do you think Brian Urlacher is just waiting for the first game against the Vikings for a little payback? Kind of like roaming out into coverage and hitting Wade so hard that he knocks him out? I think Bobby Wade is going to be hearing footsteps everytime he goes out for a pass. Once again, advantage Bears!

for some reason that reminded me

that old picture of #30 and #54 standing over a fallen Roy Williams mocking him late in yet another Sunday ass-pounding the Lions got from the Bears…something about how bigshot Roy guaranteed a big victory that game but unfortunately it didn’t work that way for the scrubs in blue. Think it was 2006? Memory is a bit hazy.

I am just hoping that when we play the Vikings this year we have an answer for AD. f their passing game.
