Marcellus Wiley is an idiot...

In a video Wiley broke down each individual game for the Vikings and called it a win or a loss.

He had the Vikings sweeping the Bears. Now normally I really don't pay that much attention to preseason projected wins but with all the Favre frenzy I thought I would bring this up. Here are my reasons why the Vikings don't sweep the Bears.

1. Both games are played late in the season (week 12 and week 16) and that is around the time that Favre completely collapsed last season, I know it was because of injury, but he is going to be 40 when these games are played so I wouldn't be suprised to see his body collapse. Also remember Pat Williams is going to be 37 by the time of those two games, so he might collapse two.

2. Favre has had real problems against Lovie Smith's defense, don't believe me then just read this article.

3. The Bears split the series against Minnisota last year, and after significetly improving both sides of the ball we now lose both games. I know Minnisota added Favre, but they also lost pro-bowl center and team leader Matt Birk which I think is a big loss.

4. I definitely don't see them winning the game at Soldier Field late in the season. Despite the fact that Brett Favre used to be amazing in the cold, he know has turned into a liability at an old age. Also remeber the bones start to ache a little more in the cold weather so that will hurt Favre's abilities given that he is already old and already has a hurt soldier.

P.S. The Vikings are also sweeping the Lions according to Wiley, I would be willing to bet against this as well. Remember, the Vikings barely squeaked by the Lions last season, one win coming because of the run out of the endzone play, and I think the Lions have greatly improved. So if the Williams Wall suspension is upheld for this game then I can definitely see Detriot winning the game.

Super Bowl

based on this FA pickup alone

I would debate you, but that would only lead to me being dragged away in handcuffs...

lmao

good one
i thinks hes reffering to adding rod marinelli and lovie taking babitchs duties
hopefully if we stay healthy we see some improvements and also not as many three and outs this year again i hope lol

I think...

Pisa is a big upgrade over Hillenmeyer, I seem to remember Hunter and Nick Roach getting beat often in coverage. Also I believe that Bowman, if he can stay healthy, will be an upgrade over Vasher. Also, I’m hoping that Tommie Harris is healthy which is an upgrade over an injured Harris.

Also, I think coaching and scheme help, so I think Lovie will put our defense in a better position to suceed than last year.

To think Harris is going to turn the corner as far as health is a stretch

But I would agree with Pisa and Bowman being an upgrade, jurys still out on Tommie unfortunately

I definitely agree w/ Pisa and Bowman

Tommie Harris….too early to call and he’s probably still injured anyways.

I suppose that Lovie running the defense could be viewed as a positive going into the season, but it’s hard to judge whether or not it’s going to be good.

I can't speak for everyone but

our defense last season was surprisingly horrible. Just not what we are used to, right? I sure the hell hope they are better this year with the addition of Marinelli, free agency, and draft picks. Bottom line, I just hope they play better this season, especially our D-line. Get some fricken sacks for crying out loud.

When did we get better on defense?

When we hired Marinelli.
When we demoted Babich.
When we signed Tinoisamoa.
(And hopefully) When we drafted Afalava.
Oh, and when we improved our offense to the point of letting our defense rest more.

So....

we have two moves, and neither was big splashes. And we’re banking on that to provide a good defense?

Afalava, Pisa, and Harrison.

These three will pick up the slack the rest of the aging Bears defense leaves behind.

I wouldn't bet on it too much....

I’m scared about our secondary this year.

Don't let my post fool you

I am too, but I think with a little health (Bowman/Tillman) luck on our side we’ll be improved from last year.

I'm thinking the late season games will make a pretty significant impact.

I agree with that point. Let’s hope he forces his way through the season, rather than pussing out half way, resting, then returning to play for the Bears games.

Has anyone ever heard of a guy named Rod Marinelli?

Hey lets enjoy the Favre signing, its taken the pressure off us and put it solely on the Vikes.

We have been completely pushed to the side now, everyone and I mean everyone as far as prognosticators are writing us off (KISS MY ASS SCHLERETH). And thats just the way I like it. We never play well as the favorites or the hunted so to speak we need to be the hunters again. Ive always felt the Bears are a better underdog/me against the world team anyways, its when they start drinkin the kool aid when things start to go bad..

So let them pick the Viqueens, let em pick the Fudge Packers, let em say Rodgers is better than Cutty, let em say Bretts gonna win a super bowl, let em say Cutlers immature, let them talk constantly about the Pack vs Vikings matchup, let everyone overlook us because you know what the Bears will immediately play the disrespect card.
And guess what as much as Barnett wants to hit Favre in the mouth hes gotta play us week 1and Brett wont be there and Ive gotta feeling theyre starting to overlook that week 1 matchup just a little bit now that Favre has come back and that bodes well for us in my humble opinion. Ok not so humble.

+1

At this point who cares what people say we dont have to defend Da Bears with words anymore, they will show it in their play. Hopefully.

I really think our D will be better this season for many reasons already mentioned.

There is no way the purple piss ants sweep us this season, NO F’N WAY!!!!

Did WIley even graduate college? He was never even that good at football. I don’t mind Irvin, Carter, Keyshawn, Sapp as analysts because they were actually well above average. Wiley was good but not great. He just had a good agent who got him something to do after the NFL.

Only chance you have of winning against the Vikes is the December game, when we’re resting our starters for the playoffs! HA just kidding, should be a good game.

LOL

@ thinking Favre is going to last until December

I would debate you, but that would only lead to me being dragged away in handcuffs...

Also,

Wiley also said that he thought the Vikings will win the last game @ Soldier Field just because they had an edge in the passing game… -WTF How the hell is the passing game going to give you an advantage when it’s 15 degrees F’ and the wind is blowing 35 MPH???!!! This guy obviously has no clue about the conditions at Soldier Field during December.
