Cedric Benson: the Bears miss me

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/1701034,CST-SPT-bside05.article

this guy gets dumber by the day

in this article he states that the Bears made a mistake cutting him (and we all agree)

and says that the Bears "miss him"

he must have an IQ below room temperature

please read this article for a laugh

I personally think he's right, without him we have no team chemistry, a backfield full of question marks, and a team not ready for a postseason run

i wish we had two first round picks to trade to the Bungals for him

You will not be missed!

sorry the link didn't work

I make fanposts like Cedric Benson runs the ball… utterly disgraceful

by SamuraiMike50 on Aug 5, 2009 7:20 PM CDT reply actions

Benson made some mistakes,

and certainly could have screwed up his career. But, he’s seemingly found a niche in Cincy, so more power to him. I’m sure the Bears have moved on.

Be nice. Flag comments that you think are offensive. Use the "reply" button. Drink plenty of water. Compliment others. Rec (wreck) comments and posts you like. Don't call people names. If you don't like someone's comment, attack the comment and not the commentor. Learn the difference in your/you're, then/than, to/too. Exercise. Relax. Stretch often. Find good in the world.

Yeah...

But that’s only if you count not putting any effort in, alienating an entire team, and milking injuries as mistakes. Moving on is a lot easier when one learns to actually move on. Dropping the “they’ll be sorry” card after you get a new contract from another desperate team is gutless and shows his misgivings as a professional. I couldn’t care less about his off-the field shenanigans, that’s his deal. I was utterly disgusted by his complete lack of effort when he was a Bear.

LostinSTL

well said.

Benson may end up being a horse in Cincinnatti.
He was a ’horse’s ass’ in Chicago.

Awful poll.

Compare him to something other than cancer. Crabs perhaps?

by PolishSausage.Ditka.Bears. on Aug 5, 2009 8:09 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah

Cancer really sucks…I agree especially knowing people who are suffering from it.

Not to say that I don’t hate Cedric.

by BigAppleBearsFan on Aug 5, 2009 8:17 PM CDT up reply actions

I believe this is the first time...

I have ever heard of anyone asking for crabs ;P

But which one really has the crabs???????????

Is that a Haiku?

Awesome SIG. Spinal Tap rules. One of my favorite is at the end of the movie during the credits and he says, “I believe virtually everything I read”

How much more blank can it be...

the answer is none…none more black!

Is cancer really catching up??

True, and it’s even worse in Celsius. Just as true, too.

I Think Cedric Took Up Drinking Again

I think Cedric will do well in Cincinnatti. I think if we had not cut him we would have never drafted Matt Forte. SamuraiMike50, I don’t understand your statement about the Bears not having any chemistry in the backfield. This team just missed the playoffs last year because of the running game. And now we will have a passing game to compliment it. Your statement baffles me.

I'm pretty sure

That was a really good use of sarcasm by SamuraiMike50 that flew over your head

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Sarcasm

My bad SamuraiMike50, I see now the error in my ways! Now your post makes sense to me.

The only thing I miss

is the $75 I spent on a Benson Jersey 4 years ago.

by bearcub on Aug 6, 2009 9:10 AM CDT reply actions

I Also Have A Benson Jersey

I feel your pain bearcub. I still wear it because I spent $75.00 on it and looks good on me. Most people don’t look at the name anyway.

by Gesiakob on Aug 6, 2009 12:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Another good reason

to wear/own a Payton Jersey.

Throwbacks are solid

My theory is that if you can get a good 3 seasons out of a jersey, it was relatively worth it…

I’ve been rocking my Ogunleye and Urlacher for some time now

by bearcub on Aug 6, 2009 1:43 PM CDT up reply actions

wow

i have very specific rules for jersey buying that would have prevented this.

i’m sure you’ve learned your lesson though.

by mike b on Aug 6, 2009 3:35 PM CDT up reply actions

yah, me too..

at least a year into their extension before i even think about it… with the one and only exception being cutler… don’t know what came over me!!! what’s your rule?

by windycity72 on Aug 6, 2009 3:45 PM CDT up reply actions

i have a rex jersey

that is now buried in a pile somewhere. i think i might get an olsen jersey this year, seems like a safe bet (I hope)

by reefermadness3 on Aug 6, 2009 4:36 PM CDT up reply actions

He looks so happy in the second one :-)

Let's move on from Cedric...

Hey, the guy is on a team where he fits in now. Take that any way you want… let’s forget about him and move on.

I like our backs this year!

by Dubblay on Aug 6, 2009 12:57 PM CDT reply actions

I sure miss

the draft pick we wasted on him

by Staleystan595455 on Aug 6, 2009 1:57 PM CDT reply actions

eh

that draft, in my opinion, is laced with busts

except for a few guys (Demarcus Ware at #11 in particular)

by SamuraiMike50 on Aug 6, 2009 4:28 PM CDT reply actions

yeah that draft may have sucked for the most part

but for gods sakes benson is the only guy i can remember watching who could get tackled BY YARD STRIPES. a cruel joke was played on the bears the day he was drafted.
