Urlacher's candid sitdown with Mort
via thenastyboys.files.wordpress.com
Mortensen asks Brian a wide range of intriguing questions that consist of Hot Rod Marinelli's influence over the defense, Orton, Cutler's "smarts," golf, last year's defensive failures, and Bears' MLB lore.
The only "downer" of a moment was when Mort asked 'Lach what the most frustrating aspect is about playing linebacker. Uh...when, I hit my gap and get held up or can't get rid of blockers. Of course, that's part of your job description. Anyways, enjoy!

Brian
is awesome.

I love Urlacher. He needs to have a big season this year, or he could be replaced. He better learn how to shed blockers. And fast.

Urlacher will have a big season this year, barring injury, and the reason won’t be because he needs to, it will be because he is fully healthy AND because Smith is now the defensive coordinator, not Babich. Urlacher has never been the greatest at shedding blockers, and he isn’t going to improve that after all these years, but his other skills still make him one of the best at his position when healthy.
