Jay Cutler's Facial Expressions in slow motion are the best

Hey everyone, I saw this on the internet and I didn't see it on WCG so I decided to post it.

Star-divide

Jay Cutler vs. Ref's Hand

LOL look at the ref smile after he hits him. It gets better and better the longer you watch it!

Bear Tracks and Running Backs

Rod Marinelli is the answer. Alex Brown single handedly swung the momentum of the game when he sacked Big Ben and stopped the run on back to back plays. If you didn't know he's a Florida Gator and pure concrete cyanide. I wish we'd get to see some more of the Rookies on the Dline, I think that'll come later in the season.

Jay Cutler and the offense seemed to get into a rhythm in the 2nd half. Johnny Knox is the real deal and I expect him to be starting from now on and I'd like to see what DA can do too, maybe switch him in for Bennett. Greg Olsen really disappointed me this week, he had 3 drops and he slipped in the endzone which could have cost us a TD. Where's all the Chemistry???

Speaking of things being absent, I was drinking my Milk this morning and I saw this

If we want to be a serious contender we need to have a run game, so far Forte has 84 yards on 38 attempts and zero TDs and 1 fumble, so he's averaging 2.2 yards per attempt.

That's 1/10 of his jersey number, 22.

That's pathetic. I love Forte too, and I think he will turn around. Some people are thinking that his weakness is the 3-4, but if anything he should be getting at least 3 yards per carry. We might have to draft 2 RB's in the upcoming draft.

Just to put that in perspective, Benson, a guy that we cut (I wish we would have held onto him for 2 more weeks so he could have tried flying a plane and getting a FUI? it would have completed his trifecta of land, sea, and air), has 1 TD, 217 yards on 50 attempts behind Cincy's Oline, that's 4.34 yards per carry.

Around the NFC North:

Green Bay Upset at Home

did anyone else see this coming? The Bengals are greatly improved on defense, Odom may be getting the Defensive Player of the Year award if he keeps playing at a high level (5 sacks vs. GB). Carson Palmer healthy is equal to about 1.5 Hasselback's healthy, or 0.25 Tom Bradys.

Lions need a Veternarian, choke in the 2nd half

The Lions were up 10-0 at Halftime, then Kevin Smith fumbled and gave the Vikings an easy TD. That was the momentum shift of the game. After that the Vikings scored 27 unanswered points and the Lions proved to us why they are the Lions. I think the Lions' OC was handcuffing Stafford with the run game, here's how the whole game went, Lions 1st down, run, 2nd down, run, 3rd (and long) Stafford throw. Stafford also had 2 INT's because he tried to force it. The Lions need to have Stafford focus on short intermediate passes which he is good at, if they want their offense to jumpstart, also pass every chance you get to Calvin Johnson.

NFC North Standings

Vikings 2-0

Packers 1-1 (own tie breaker)

Bears 1-1

Lions 0-2

I do love

the Ref smiling…it’s totally true this thing got funnier and funnier

Denver is happy with the trade, great, God bless you and Kyle Orton. You told us Jay will suck, great thanks for the heads up. There are many Bears fans who are still happy to have Jay as our QB. Yes even after a 4 INT night with a loss.

look how

the ref has his legs crossed too, it’s weird!

Cutler

has anyone else noticed that he’s gotten a haircut? Looks like he’s lost the frat boy look. Good for him.

a pretty nice catch. he’s like “oh no, my helmet is going to…HAHA not likely snag

by Cosmis on Sep 21, 2009 9:18 PM CDT reply actions

yes, it was a good grab

in fact about 3 seconds after the clip ends Cutler smiles and says “did you see that catch!” to someone on the sidelines

I don’t know if he was goofing off or was just zoned out but it makes for a pretty good GIF

I would have dropped that thing if I was Cutler

And I can’t believe the freaking Bengals beat the Packers… At least that helps the Bears.

Forte

Football 101. Forte can’t run the ball if there’s no run-blocking happening in front of him. We have pathetic run-blocking, mostly because Omiyale and Olsen just can’t block.

Football 102

If it was entirely the Oline’s fault then Adrian Peterson would have failed miserably this past sunday. I believe the line could be much better, but there are holes, Forte just needs to use his vision/sometimes be more patient. Even if you have no line whatsoever the minimum a RB must make it is 3 yards. That means it’d be 3rd Down and 4 yards, or 4th and 1 if you solely ran.

Even though CBAP only has 3 attempts (this is a bad sample, but it is the only sample we have with the newly formed CB Oline after two weeks) he has 16 yards. That’s 5.3 yards per carry (I know you may be saying, but he got 15 yards on 1 carry, that’s an outlier!) AP was looking better than Forte Sunday (I know I know only 3 carries).

It’s waaay too early to be calling for Forte’s head, but it’s definitely something we need to be watching. If Forte and the Oline can’t produce against Seattle then we’ll know that the Run game is in big trouble. I personally think Forte will have a 70+ Rush day.

Here’s some stats (against Seattle)
Frank Gore 16 attempts 207 yards averaging 12.9 yards per carry and 2 TD’s

Steven Jackson* 16 attempts for 67 yards averaging 4.2 yards per carry

*Rams Oline is much much worse than the Bears.

Simply put Running Back is a position where you just have to get it done, for our sake let’s hope Forte does

It was a little thing, but

Cutler catching that helmet behind his back without missing a beat, shows the athletecism this guy has. Everyone who watches him mentions that when you look at him off the field, he doesn’t look like the greatest physical specimen, but on the field they are almost shocked by how fast he is, how coordinated he is, and how effortlessly he does things.

Also, I think your assessments were right on the money throughout the post. Great job.

by BearFan611 on Sep 22, 2009 7:34 AM CDT reply actions

Phil Simms

mentioned that fact a few times. Cutler has a very average physical build, but may be one of the most athletic QBs in the NFL.

You could make the comparison, athletically, to Eli Manning. I think Cutler is a better athlete (and QB), but I’ve begun to change my opinion on Eli. I think I was so accustomed to Peyton running like he’s on a treadmill falling down a mountain that I just assumed Eli was slow. He doesn’t scramble a lot but he seems to be really difficult to pin down.

Case in point: The Tyree Catch.

Just saying Cutler, by all accounts, is a much better athlete than advertised.

by Cosmis on Sep 22, 2009 1:34 PM CDT up reply actions

He's much more than you're average specimen,

and judging from his build and combine reports he has more neural strength than muscular strength, as he repped 225lb on the bench press 23 times at his combine, and reportedly maxed out at *405. Dude is elusive, fast, strong, tough, you name it.

For comparison’s sake, Adrian Peterson(Minn.) benched 345 at his combine.

Nice,

He did run right into it. Great redeeming catch though.

FUI...that's priceless

I just get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach thinking about that guy! What a waste of a high pick!

by big-al on Sep 22, 2009 6:30 PM CDT reply actions

hindsight is always 20/20

but man just imagine if we had hit gold for a RB on this pick we would have had Thomas Jones in his Prime and a fresh running back.

In the 2005 NFL Draft
Cedric Benson taken 4th overall (held out for more money)

Frank Gore was taken in the 3rd round.

Marion Barber was taken in the 4th round

Justin Tuck was also drafted in the 3rd round. I have to be honest though it overall was a very weak draft class.

It really sucks looking back at this draft because we also drafted Chris Harris. But on the brightside we got Robbie Gould undrafted.

Watching that ytmnd made me wonder:

Do they sell the soundtrack for the NFL films?

The answer: Yes. And it’s REALLY expensive.

When you go to somebody's house, you don't crap on their floor. Being a fan of one team does NOT give you license to be a dick to fans of another.

Corollary: When people are visiting your house and behaving themselves, them being a fan of a different team is NOT a reason for you to piss in their beer.

The funniest part of that clip is that the ref straight laughs in his face.
