Jay Cutler HOF

Thank goodness Chicago got Jay Cutler.  The man is without a doubt the best quarterback in the NFL and by the time he retires will have 2 or 3 rings on his fingers.  What the Bears need to do right now is forget about  the running game and release Cutler and let him throw the ball 3 out of 4 downs.  Many people do not realize what kind of arm this man has and the impact he will have in the future...Lovie forget running the ball and let Cutler do his thing, after all, he is going to be a hall of famer.

Im with you

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t think I would trade him for any other QB in the league. PERIOD. The guy has made Hester look like if not a number 1, then one of the best clutch WRs in the game. He’s the goods. His numbers were insane tonight. Look at his Stats!!! 21 of 27? It took Brady almost 20 more attempts to put up the same numbers today. We got a QB, not in his prime, but when he’s finally figured out who he is in this league. We may have the next Elway here. Yeah I said it!

Whoah

get away from the running game?
I wouldn’t abandon all hope, just yet

I'm all for keeping to the running game...

As long as its not Garrett Wolfe on a crucial 3rd and 1. LOL

by sirus19x on Sep 27, 2009 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions

I would much rather see our AP get the touches...

AP when given his limited opportunities this season that he is a hard runner and is a hell of alot harder to bring down than Wolfe.

I am NOT anti-Wolfe, I just think we are using him in entirely the wrong way.

Unreasonable people make life difficult...

This^^^.

I’ll say it: I am anti-Garrett Wolfe(on offense). Helluva special teamer, that’s it. When he’s out there, there are a couple of options: Run or Screen. You can’t rely on him to pass protect, and the defense isn’t worried about him running, as he’ll get swallowed up when he hits the line of scrimmage. Playing Wolfe at RB is asking for a Cutler injury.
I would use Peterson for short yardage situations. He’s the more physical, straight ahead back. Forte dances too much and isn’t powerful enough to grind out tough yardage.

by dakoose on Sep 28, 2009 9:28 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree. Wolfe was fine for 1st and 2nd down but on 3rd and short he isn’t the guy you want..but I like the fact he actually got carries, 9 yards on 2 carries isn’t bad and gives us a more than attainable 3rd down.

YOU DO NOT STOP RUNNING THE FOOTBALL

thats a horrible idea. We can’t become a one-sided team because we have a good QB now. We still have to play complete football to win. Throw 3 out of 4 downs? Does that mean every 4 plays we run, 3 of them are pass plays or what? You make decisions on how to attack teams based on many things which is why teams spend so much time studying film, you don’t just throw the ball all the time. Too much homer talk.

+1

I wonder if he’s ever heard of running to set up Play action. Running can make passing more succesful. If you have to respect the run the passing lanes open up. Abadoning the run is just ludicris. Good QB’s are betting with a solid running attack.

You can't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how World War One got started.

it is recockulous

no running means little clock control, which means more time on the field for the defense. insanity

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

in the future

We may be a pass-first team, but i no way will we abandon the run. It is essential to beating any defense and a good running game is as valuable (or more) than a passing game.

I’d like to see our running game start doing better though. Forte’s running numbers aren’t good by any means, but he’s doing decent in the passsing game. i think he had 106 yards from scrimmage to finish the day.

by Nih1lus on Sep 27, 2009 8:58 PM CDT reply actions

wasnt the run pass ratio 50/50?

we RAN the ball 28 times and threw it 27 sure we could run it more but i mean we did not abandon it i guarntee you guys if we ran it 35 times for an extra 19 yards you would be up in arms saying why dont they throw it! They are actually trying to run it but if its not there you have to do something that does work

Wow. Just Wow.

Stopped by to say gratz on the win. I saw some nice plays today, and a decent game, INT not-with-standing. Now I find out Jay is going to the SB already, and he doesn’t need a running game either.
It’s ok… I know that one isn’t par for the masses here.
Btw, Orton’s going to the Superbowl, and….. nm

I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.

Orton's solid

You guys got a quality game manager, congrats on 3-0, I still prefer Cutler but I liked Kyle when he was here. Guess if your statement holds true we’ll see you in the Super Bowl!

cutler is doing fine, but i really thought his arm would open things up for forte… boy was i wrong.

forte is not helping my FF team, lol

by lolcopter on Sep 28, 2009 1:28 AM CDT reply actions

Join the club lol, oh i guess you have joined the club.

I thought Forte and AP would be almost neck and neck points wise (because of Forte’s passing attributes helping make up the rushing attributes for AP)….Boy was i wrong. Olsen got me a score but he’s killing me too. Man i hate FF!!

by Chitownproduct on Sep 28, 2009 8:53 AM CDT up reply actions

lol, that makes two of us

by lolcopter on Sep 28, 2009 10:34 AM CDT up reply actions

Two problems. Offensive line & Wrong Turner.

God bless the coming of Jay Cutler. Without him we are 0-3, period. Yes, I feel he could be HOF material, he has all the tools and I would not swap him for anyone. I have a man crush on JC.

Omiyale was supposed to be an addition to the line, he is a subtraction. Beekman needs to start for a game or two to wake Frank up and give Beekman a chance to impress. Leave off Forte, he’s fine, his line sucks. Hester had some great catches and has now proven he is the real deal as a receiver

by Irish Bears Fan on Sep 28, 2009 3:32 AM CDT reply actions

If anything

Omiyale should be a swing Tackle at this point, to spell Williams or Pace, since thats his natural position, i don’t get what’s up with the Bears conversion of position plan?
we have Daniel Manning learning every position on the field… and wonder why he doesnt excel at any of them. Hester returner/DB/WR… I don’t get it.

hester hasnt been a DB in three years

and at wideout he is quickly making a name for himself as a COMPLETE RECEIVER and honestly returners im not too worried i know hester is the best ever but knox is looking good as of now and hester is still returning punts

Hyperbole much?
