WCG Has a New Sponsor

I wanted to announce that this blog now has a sponsor for the season. We were approached by Comcast, who is looking to get the word out about Comcast Redzone and they knew the best way to reach hardcore NFL fans was through SB Nation blogs. We’re proud to have them as a sponsor and it shows just how much this blog has grown and the kind of community we have here.

We won’t be bombarding you with marketing messages, but we’ll remind you every once in a while about some of the great sports features available from Comcast, like Redzone. For a little cash a month, you get the Redzone Channel which shows all the redzone action on NFL Sunday as its happening.

This weekend on Sunday, Oct. 4th, they’ll provide Redzone for free on Comcast from 1-4 PM.

Plus, they have stuff like On Demand content from the NFL Network including game recaps of every game, every week; draft profiles, player profiles, etc.

I just wanted to say thanks to Comcast for sponsoring the blog and let you guys know about some of the stuff they have for NFL fans.

I don't have Comcast as an option down here

can you tell them to call my cable company and have them add the NFL network as well as the Big 10 Network to their lineup? Red Zone stuff looks pretty cool.

Just get Fios last year after giving Directv the boot. I hate those bastards and wish like hell the nfl would stop letting them monopolize the sunday ticket.

I have Comcast and they just added Red Zone, it is very cool.

You can check things out from all over the NFL all day long. Great addition.

Red Zone is awesome

for the non-Bear time slot, Red Zone is great. No commercials, they do the flipping around to all of the games that you would if you had the Sunday Ticket, now Comcast just needs to show it in HD here in Chicago.

Scam

Sorry to make this my first post here, but longtime reader yada, yada, yada. . . . While the red zone channel is a great idea, and Im glad comcast carries it. THEY DONT BROADCAST IN HD! As much as I want to watch 411 on sundays, their non HD broadcast keeps driving me away. Watching any sport, especially football, in standard def is like fingernails on a chalkboard. The worst part is, they have the ability to broadcast in HD and simply dont do it. Everyone here should let comcast know that they refuse to watch the Red Zone channel until they broadcast in HD.

Try watching a game over a crapy

internet feed. Then and only then will I have sympathy for having to watch a channel in standard def. Yes I like to watch games in HD but I’d rather have an option to watch them in Standard than to not watch them at all.

i am confused

i have nfl sunday ticket(live in md not not in lovely illinois) they also give me a redzone channell whats the difference between the two?

The non-DTV one is not as good and apparently not in HD (yet) with Comcast. Not sure if the one on Dish is the same as Comcast or not, but I suspect it is. Verizon FIOS customers are getting it too I guess. Just be glad you have the DTV one.

Comcast RZC

I guess I’ll accept the sponsor even though the Comcast RZC is a poor, poor, poor man’s DirecTV RZC. No HD, no Andrew Siciliano = not nearly as good. Just pony up for the NFL Sunday Ticket if you can afford it, it is awesome. But, RZC in HD for a cheaper price will be very compelling…

comcast could really put a dent in directv subscribers IF they offered RZC in HD. You are also right about Andrew Siciliano. All this still doesnt let comcast off the hook for broadcasting in standard def.
