Briggs Gets NFL Defensive Player of the Week
Of course, the story is buried well within the pages of ESPN, but nonetheless, Lance Briggs gets the honor.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording eight tackles, two for a loss, one sack, an interception and a quarterback pressure in the Bears' 25-19 Week 3 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field.

Awesome
He deserves it the way he plays. If he continues like this, he might be the leading tackler by the end of the year.

Wonder how many would re - consider them signing Berrian instead
I actually felt that between the two options, it would have been better for the Bears to re – sign Berrian instead of Briggs. Bernard’s still a very good receiver, but Briggs was a better option for the Bears in the end. So glad to be wrong on this one.

Stellar
This guy has been the key to our defensive this year and definitely last year. It’s good to see especially since this type of performance is what we are going to need without Urlacher. GO BEARS!!!

He's the MAN...
Easily one of the top 5 LBs in the NFL. I think the best measure of Briggs is that no one ever criticizes his play, his effort, or his work ethic. If the Bears could only be as good at evaluating DB and DL talent, the defense would be all-world!!!
Good show Briggsie!!
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

They usually call those
“rest” days… to say “off with an injury” usually means theres something.

Haven't seen anything from the World Wide Leader
of course that doesn’t mean it’s not true. I would just think if he was injured they’d report it. I don’t know if you know but Briggs is kind of a big deal, he has many leather bound books.
You can't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how World War One got started.

Beast of a player
He’s quietly become the best WLB in the game. Last week’s performance does not go unheeded.
