That flowers thing
Has been denied by teammates on Twitter: “Devin Aromushado is my hotel roomate and trust me he did not send flowers. If he was that kinda guy I wud have known 1st!” and then later: “@FMines89 they tried to say he sent lovie flowers to make the team”
The flowers thing didn't bother
so much as the brutal comments about our WRs. I mean… ouch.

That sucks about Peanut
We really need him back. But I’d rather that he’d wait until he’s feeling 100 percent (or at least close to it) before he comes back. He does us no good if he comes back gimpy or tries to hard to nurse the injury and ends up hurting something else.
We do face some pretty talented passing attacks in the first two months. I think our pressure from the front four will be able to help the secondary considerably, especially against some struggling o-lines this preaseason (Pitt, Seattle, Detroit, Cincy). But if you look at the receiving corps that we’re going up with to start the year….ouch. So much of our season is going to come down to how those guys in the secondary pan out. And obviously Tillman’s a big part of that.

Yep. Would much rather have him 100%
Than, not be ready for Jennings and Driver… who’ll toast him.

yes because we all know if you can't cover them... you gotta punch them.
Nobody punches like Peanut.
I have seen a QB and it was good.
haha - good call
BTW, there was nothing about that Blount punch last night that was not awesome. I don’t want to start a long discussion about it in here, but that’s my take. Just hilarious. (Got a little out of control after that while trying to go into the stands.)
I want to see a Peanut vs. Blount fight with the winner taking on Michael Westbrook.

The comments about Soldier Field are absolutely true...
the field is a disgrace. It’s embarassing from it’s “Starship Enterprise landed on Soldier Field” look to a playing surface that isn’t fit for a Pop Warner game. It shows the total hypocracy of “the city that works” b.s. (and before anyone asks I am a born and raised Chicagoan) that our politicians try to pass off to people. It’s also an indictment of the McCaskeys and one of the reasons for their ranking in that poll the other day. It’s absolutely ridiculous that a city like Chicago doesn’t have a retractable dome so we could host a Super Bowl and have one of the modern artificial surfaces so the different type of events that the park district insist on having don’t endanger the athletes.
The so-called purists who say “football was meant to be played outside and on real grass” forget that Walter Payton and the ‘85 Bear teams played on the crappy Astro-turf surface. The reality is that if we blow a chance at the playoffs or lose a playoff game because of a slip on some ice or being unable to hold onto the ball because of below zero temperatures, we’ll all be screaming for somebody’s head.
Sorry for the long rant, but the only reason Chicago should be considered the “Second City” is because of population and not because we’re willing to settle for second best.
the opposition plays on the same field
i would say a slip on the ice or a fumble is more likely to strike the unfamiliar opponent and so turns out to be an advantage. i’m not saying they couldn’t make some improvements but the day the bears play in a dome is the day i find a real football team to root for.
So you're saying you want the field to make up for the Bears shortcomings in generating turnovers?
AND that you wish for an increased likelihood of player injuries? That’s just plain foolish. Yeah, I guess opposing team fumbles might be a result of the turf, but that’s not worth affecting someone’s career. Lastly, if playing in a dome threatens your being a fan of the Bears… then I got nothin’.

It's been stated over and over
That fake turf is bad for our linemen, specifically Tommy Harris, now while i realize that he won’t be our lineman forever, sometimes the real grass is the best grass
throw some new sod down, but thats about all that needs to be done
i also think Superbowls should be played in the elements like the NFC/AFC championship games are.
it shouldn’t be the arguement of wanting the field to make up for something, but to provide the real aspect of the game. astro turf and domes… it all just makes it so fake now.
play out in the snow on a muddy field…thats how the game was meant to be played. it’s football not dancing with the stars

An increased likelyhood in injuries?
Seriously?
Our field gets battered over the course of a season, and by November and December, it’s largely spray painted dirt between the hashes and the 20s. It’s not much different than the other natural cold weather playing surfaces out there. But, show me some relevant statistical information on how the natural playing surface is a greater threat to players health than the artificial surfaces which tend to also be unkind to cleats and ankles and knees. Until information like that can be provided, this discussion should not continue in this thread.
Some of our players also get hurt in training camp and at Lake Forest… as do other teams players on their practice fields (natural or artificial). The odds are the same across the board.

Turf obviously worse
“A study by Livesay, et al. of peak torque and rotational stiffness found the highest torques were created by a grass shoe-FieldTurf interaction 2006. Lowest torques were obtained on natural grass fields. A proper combination of artificial turf shoes and synthetic grass led to intermediate torques.”
Basically: turf is worse for athletes and causes an increased rate of muscle trauma.

Thank you. That's what I figured.
The Bears field, even in “dirt” condition late in the year, is more forgiving.

thanks necessities and sack
and where did i say i had a “wish for an increased likelihood of player injuries”? you mean because it could be icy? it’s not like there’s going to be a frozen creek in the middle of the field or something.
Was great to see Bowman get a pick right away last night!
Not so great to see him leave with cramps. He needs to be able to play 4 QTRs in Green Bay.

Was listening to McNeil's show today
and he was talking about how the water tables near Lake Michigan have been blamed for the poor field conditions, but hiring an expert like the “Sod father” would possibly solve the issue. McNeil said that it has been an ongoing issue between the McCaskey’s and the park district about poneying up the “big money” to get the proper expert to fix the turf problems.
Eammon Brennan
But when all is said and done, it really doesn’t matter which Bears wideouts make the cut. They’re all horrible.
Wow dude, you may want to come up with some facts to prove they’re horrible. Try a little creativity as well, not some overused term.
