Put up or Shut up... part 2

Cutler_inside083009_medium

via chicagobears.com

Some time ago GeauxBears and myself asked you to predict the stats for our players this year but

since it was before Cutler I thought I'd give everyone a second chance to Put up or Shut up!

Some of my favs from the last one were:

Star-divide

WCG:

I've got

Cutler with 4,000 yards and 25 TDs
Boldin with 1425 yards and 13 TDs
Forte with 1350 yards and 10 TDs.

SackMan:

Mark Anderson leads the team in sacks.
Lance Briggs leads the team in tackles.
Nathan Vasher leads the team in INTs
Matt Forte leads the team in rushing and in overall TDs
Greg Olsen leads the team in receptions
Devin Hester leads the team in receiving yards

Myself:

How about this...

Orton : 3300 yds 25 tds 10ints 60% comp
Forte 1339 yds 12 td 40 rec 525 yds
Anderson: 8 sacks 1 FF

GG and HoneyBear:

But whatever I’ll join in:
Orton: 62% comp. 3427 yards, 23 TDs, 11 INTs
Forte: 3.6 yds/carry, 1477 yds, 12 TDs
Hester: 10 total TDs, 8 receiving, 2 returns
Danieal Manning: 3 KO returns
Olsen: Leads team in receptions
Alex Brown leads team in sacks
Tillman leads in FF and INTs

My girlfriend (Who is sporting her Bears colors and Bears jewelry today) predicts:
Forte: 25 total TDs!!!!!!!!
Seconds my Hester predict
Brown leads team in sacks

Give me your Picks!

And Remember that i'll be calling you guys out later this year so make'em good!

Ouch... my Vasher prediction doesn't look too good.

I don’t think I knew what I was talking about when we did this. I know I was acting dumb with Forte.. but I still stand by my predictions. Go Forte! That’s my boy!! :D

Crap!

I was thinking he had traded his 2010 first rounder, is that one still available? If so, just switch the years and get it done JA.

Thanks for the catch! :)

They would probably have to adjust the TD number as well...

either that or Forte is going to have a record year in rushing TD’s

by WisBearsFan34 on Sep 9, 2009 1:14 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

If Cutler has 21 TD passes...

Who threw the other 5 you mentioned?
Forte+Bennett+Hester+Olsen+Clark=2+6+6+8+4=26 TD passes

I even think Rashied will catch at least 1 TD, so we must be having Forte throw a lot!

I'm sticking with my original post
Marinelli- leads the team in sacks
Babich dissapears completely and no one cares
Ron Turner calls the FB dive 17 times in the season
Lovie slashes JA tires
Rashied "Dropopotumus" Davis has 1 catch all season beacuse it gets wedged in his facemask
Orton fumbles the snap 8 times
Olin leads the team in sacks by steping on Ortons foot 12 times
Vasher leads the team in injury time by missing 15 games
Patrick Manelly- MVP

ok now these are real (although my other predictions could come true.
Orton Cutler 3,987 65.6% completion percentage 24TD’s 13 INT’s
Forte 1346 yards rushing 9 TD’s, 675 yards receiving 3 TD’s
Hester 72 receptions 959yds 6 TD’s, 2 Punt Retun TD’s
Urlacher 134 Tackles, 17 for loss, 3 fumble recs, 2 INT’s, 3 Sacks
Robbie "Solid" Gould 22-25 FG, long of 51, 27 Touch Backs on Kickoffs.
Bears D- 2 Safties
Olson 54 rec 756 yds, 8 TD’s
Zach Bowman 6 INT’s
Jason McKie 17 Rushes for -12 yds

Here’s a prediction that came true.

I also forgot that Dusty will be on the IR for a broken finger nail, and they will rename him Mike Brown aka Mr Glass.

I cut the sleeves off because it looks awesome. NOW GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!

Brilliant!

And I love the FB dive twist….

Over – Under on FB Dives for 2009….. Damn I like 17 as well, but to be original I’ll go with 16.

Predictions if healthy ... and ain't that the thing

13-3 record, Division champs, Superbowl champs.
Cutler : 37 TDs, 20 INTs, 4000 yards passing
Forte : Rushing :1300 y, 16 TDs … Receiving: 6 TDs , 70 rec., 800 y
Olsen : 80 rec, 1000 yds, 11 TDs
Clarke : 40 rec, 500yds, 5 Tds
Bennett : 60 rec, 600 yds, 6 TDs
Hester : 50 rec, 700 yds 6 TDs
D.A. : 30 rec, 400 yds, 3 TDs

Top 5 offense in the NFL

ST : Top 5. Hester will become receiver #2 by default and used more on the returning game as Knox/Wolfe fumble.

Top Ten defense. The defense is strong against the run, with Cutler rescuing us from a porous pass defense giving up yardage and points. Defense generally strong because of increased rest due to Bear offense eating up the clock.

15-1 season possible if everyone healthy.

League Predictions

Brett Favre throws a 70 yard TD pass to Percy Harvin in week one, but his arm falls off and is parodied on South Park.

Tommie ‘The Limp’ Harris is ineffective one again, but no one says anything.

Olin Kreutz is the weakest point on the line week in week out. Revolving doors come to mind. No one says anything.

Lovie Smith has better success with the defense, but gets tetchy with the media who say we are now a passing team when Cutler picks up his third passing award, and reminds us that Chicago are a running team.

Cutler and Turner involved in turbulent behind-closed-doors scenes because of his play-changing at the LOS. No one says anything.

Al Davis trades his star running back for an unknown barefoot zen-master donkey-kicking place kicker who goes 0 for 24.

LJ and LT are completely ineffective. And no one says anything.

Shawn Merriman strangles Josh McDaniels wife. And no one says anything.

Nearly forgot ...

Jerry Jones’ scoreboard falls onto the field falls during practice killing the entire Dallas Cowboys roster. Jessica Simpson is interviewed crying on national television, but there are no actual tears visible. There is a national outbreak of indifference to the event. Al Davis buys the pieces for a record sum.

My guesses

Forte 1419 yds, 4.73 avg, 10 TD, 34 rec 310 yds, 3 TD
AP 404 yds, 4.6 avg, 2 TD
Wolfe 160 yds, 3.2 avg, 1 TD

Cutler 3650 yd, 62% completion, 31 TD, 15 INT, 128 rushing yds
Hester 62 rec, 1141 yds, 7 TD, 1 TD punt return
Bennett 48 rec, 640 yds, 3 TD
Aromashedu 31 rec, 295 yds, 2 TD
Clark 28 rec, 188 yd, 6 TD
Olsen 81 rec, 1040 yds, 7 TD
Knox 14 rec, 351 yd, 2 TD
Davis 22 rec, 204 yd, 1 TD

Defense places #6 vs run, #24 vs pass
Leaders – Pisa in tackles (124), Brown in sacks (9), Bowman in picks (5), Harrison in FF (3)

Maynard leads NFL in punt inside 20 ratio.
Gould third in NFC in scoring

Record: 12-4, NFC North champs, NFC Champions, SB losers (to Ravens)
