Saw an article on Yahoo!...
… that said that the best Super Bowl for CBS would be the Colts and the Vikings. Unfortunately, I can’t find it right now. >_<
Coincidentally, I am hoping for a Jets/Saints Super Bowl.

It would be a good show, although I might have to leave Minnesota to avoid the non-stop coverage leading up to it.

Not sure if it “serves the Colts right”… They rested their starters for a game like this, getting to the Super Bowl. That it’s the team that they helped let in (they had to beat the Bengals too) is just a poetic coincidence.

I think that it would serve the Colts right
because you have to figure there was a reason they didn’t feel threatened letting the Jets into the playoffs. I doubt they would have rested their starters if it had meant being able to keep a team like the Chargers or Steelers out of the playoffs, ones that have haunted them in previous years.

Not really.
There’s a whole “Rest/Don’t Rest” debate, which is where this probably eventually leads to, but I think regardless of the team their thought was to rest their starters from potential injury (a whole ’nother thing which annoys me to no end but whatever).

It works on several levels.
But if they are beaten by the Jets, not going for 16-0 will be heard from Colts fans from all over just like they heard it already when they decided to rest. And allowing one of those teams that they could have eliminated during their quest to be undefeated to beat them in the AFC Championship game is icing on the cake.

Never been one...
to root for a NY team, but I really like the brand of football the Jets play, plus, Buddy’s boy is the HC and our own Doug Plank is an assistant coach for the club. That being said, the perfect scenario to play out for Bears fans, IMO, is this: Jets pound the Colts into the Lucas Oil stadium field, one for thumbing their proverbial noses at NFL history for pulling their starters and not going for the undefeated season, and two, for just a little vindication for our loss to them in the super bowl,as trivial as that may seem. Then, and I think this one will be nothing short of a miracle of divine intervention, the Vikings beat the Saints and meet the Jets in the big game, at which point the Jets knock the crap out of Brett and the Vikings, getting a little payback themselves and allowing TJ the opportunity to flip the symbolic bird at Jerry and Lovie for making the incredibly assinine decision to let him go . I can only imagine how much better our record would have been this year if we had those 1400+ yards and 14 TD’s he scored for NY . Now if the Colts beat the Jets, then I want to see the Saints go all the way, cuz the party in New Orleans should be a news event in and of itself I’m thinkin. Mardi Gras might start early and last till summer, woo hoo!

I hit post a little too soon. I hope Favre wins it all because it’ll piss off all the Packer fans! If I have to listen to how they one the 1st two Super Bowls one more time…. Let Favre win the Super Bowl with the Vikes so we can watch all the Packer fans jump off the freakin bridge! A happy Viking fan is better than a happy Packer fan any day!

Something else to consider...
While that may piss off the Puker fans, keep this in mind, as long as the Viqueens continue to be 0 for the superbowl, we as Bears fans will always hold the STFU card in any discussion with them which carries considerably more weight ,in my opinion. Where the Puker fans are concerned, I am looking forward to the day when we pass them for the lead in all time championships won, a day which the state of illinois should automatically implement as a state holiday for sure! whatcha think?

If the SB is Peyton v. Favre the coverage will be unwatchable. Only thing ESPN would enjoy more is if they somehow got footage of Favre spanking Manning. The appeal of Favre spanking his teammates is lost on me.

Well he's done with the Vikings
his contract is up and he has dreams of being an HC so I doubt he would resign with Minnesota. He has stated that he has respect for Lovie Smith, he runs the tampa-2 and he can see that he would be in line for HC when/ if Lovie gets fired. It is a possibility.

Well, we're F'd if Favre would've won today, and F'd if he doesn't...
At least now we can at least go a few months without the damn “Will he or won’t he…” nonsense. NoItAll was right, a Manning/Favre showdown would’ve been unbearable. I’ll be cheering for the Saints. I still hold ill will about the SB, and don’t like Manning unless he’s doing SNL.
