Vikings at Packers Sunday Night Open Thread

GREEN BAY WI - OCTOBER 24: Green Bay Packer fans wait for Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings to get off the bus at Lambeau Field on October 24 2010 in Green Bay Wisconsin. (Photo by Jim Prisching/Getty Images)

Even with the Bears loss tonight, today's game is pretty darn important in the division. I know you're all watching with your breath held.

I'm torn on who to root for in this one, so I'm just looking for an exciting football game. Let's see if Favre hid a cellphone in the goal post. Your NFC North Sunday Night Football thread starts here.

Well I guess it makes more sense

to root for the Vikings so that the Bears lead doesn’t shrink further. What a waste today. The whole NFC is going to hell and we’re out giving games away to the Redskins. So we’re probably going to have to win the division because all 3 of our loses are to NFC contenders. Forget 4-3. As bad as today was, all that matters is the NFC North.

Yeah but it worked!

Fuck both of these teams

But go Vikes I guess(injects needle into arm)

out if curiosity

why. Seems it would be a little better for the Bears at this point if the Vikes won. Am I missing something?

by Fridge72 on Oct 24, 2010 7:41 PM CDT up reply actions

...

A vikings win will likely result in them finding their timing and a Favre/Moss combo is bad. And the Vikes are healthy.

The Pack have so many injuries that they’re not likely to make it much further into the season.

by Arbusto on Oct 24, 2010 7:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Plus, I think we all

just want to see them go down with Favre….

by David in Maine on Oct 24, 2010 7:44 PM CDT up reply actions

There is that.

I mean, both teams are really the Packers.

by Arbusto on Oct 24, 2010 7:45 PM CDT up reply actions   1 recs

interesting read on it.

Makes sense, hadn’t thought of it that way.

by Fridge72 on Oct 24, 2010 7:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Another loss for the Vikes

Would put them in a huge hole in the NFC North, and would make it more of a two-way battle for the division. I’d rather that than more of a three team battle, especially after us getting whipped again today.

by Dane Noble on Oct 24, 2010 7:48 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Good point,

really puts the onus on the Bears to bring it against the Pack next time too.

How could you possibly root for the packers

In which Brett farve is hit

He is carted off, comes back to announce his retirement and the packer fans throw beer at him. All of humanity rejoices.

Hillarious pick by Rodgers

Haven’t they (Rodgers and Favre) both matched their Int total from last year too?

Yes as a matter of fact

Watching the Bears win, not the shit show that we’ve been seeing the last couple of wins. But watching Brett Farve fail is second to that. Third would be watching the Packers lose.
