The Bears Den: October 29th, 2010 Edition
I did not achieve this position in life by having some snot-nosed punk leave my cheese out in the wind.
Chicago Bears' Tommie Harris benefits from friendship with Bo Jackson - I'll be honest, I did not see this one coming.
Chicago Bears' week off means no sure bet in NFL - I am so, so glad that the Trib gave McNeil a weekly article. His one note bashing of the Bears is in no way tiring.
Snub by nightclub just a rookie mistake - What idiot wouldn't want most of the team in his club. Wait, I think it was Pete Wentz's bar. So now it's all coming together.
Numbers show improvement in defense - Improvement back to ass-kickery.
Cutler a spectator again at practice - This is intriguing, but not really newsworthy unless it's next week.
Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs said he'll return after bye week - Hopefully he'll be actually rested and ready, unlike the 'Skins game.
Vermeil remains supportive of Martz - Vote of confidence time, usually means spell of doom.
Childress leaning against Favre start - YES! T-JACK REIGNS SUPREME!!!
Oh yeah, btw: Haynesworth fined for hit on Webb - You may remember this as the play that Webb got a penalty on.
The holidays are right around the corner... get your Ditka Sweater Vest today!

Farv not starting?
Not good. We want the interception machine in there. He’s got nothing left.
Tavaris isn’t good, but he’s got more potential at this point than an overpaid sack of embarrassed bones.
don't believe the hype
Farve will start, or else a black hole will envelop the milky way and all life in this galaxy will end.

…… I’ve simply grown bored with the need to respond to remarks made about comments I never said in the first place …

Symptomatic
I drew a comparison in another fanpost, that despite being sacked 50 times last year, Rodgers only through 7 interceptions. I made no reference to anything except suggesting a new Head Coach should have a free hand, and no player on the roster should consider themselves untouchable if this were to happen
A comment taken out of context and used in a completely different fanpost seems a strange thing to do and could only be done so for that reason.

There's bound to be some reaction for deleting numerous threads for no apparent reason
Those were actually some threads I managed to read nearly the entirety of. And I made it because there was some good back and forth. People disagreed with the idea that Briggs should be traded to preserve the future, or that Bill Cowher would be hired, or that a 3-4 would be implemented if that happened, or if a 3-4 would work, or if Harbaugh would be hired, or whatever else.
Even if those weren’t thoughts Black-Sheep endorsed, they were thoughts in the posts and people provided further thought and discourse on those ideas. There were a lot of interesting ideas of why things would/n’t work and it’s a shame those are gone now. And it looks like he deleted them because he couldn’t handle disagreement.
no player loyalty
and lets not forget there is little player loyalty left.
Players demand to be traded if they don’t like the coach, don’t like the system, aren’t getting paid as much as another player at their position.
Loyalty unlike that of the fans, who live and breath their team, for players has more to do with the ka-ching of the cash register that their agent sees
“I am now prepared to sit out the year if the Bears don’t trade me or release me, I’ve played my last snap for them. I’ll never play another down for Chicago again.”
When will this happen again?

Not necessary to conference.
We don’t need any help moderating this site. He has been informed on how to flag a comment, if he feels it necessary. At this point, deleting multiple FanPosts, having thin skin, and playing the martyr… well, it’s growing old.
We’ve had a dozen people, just like this, pop up when the Bears start losing. One of three things happens:
- The Bears win a few games and they stop coming around.
- Our members convince the person that they are not indeed a genius as they try to come across, and eventually the culture of this website wins, and the person just stops showing up.
- I ban them because they stop preaching about how everyone’s opinions are wrong, and start trying to tell us how to run the website.
Either way, everyone needs to relax. This guy is no different than others we’ve had before. Eventually, he’ll either stop preaching, or stop coming around altogether. Martyrs don’t last long at WCG.

What is this? A hurt feelings Blog?
Lets talk Chicago Bears football. I have not seen anyone on this site really be-little anyone. Seriously, some people need to have a thicker skin. I have been reading this site for a while now, I just have recently signed up to post comments. This is got to be the most clean and respectful sight that I have been on. Some people just need to step away from the ledge and calm down. I am sure that there is a shrink that you can see to talk about your feelings. Our Bears are having offensive issues due to Angelo and above not doing their jobs correctly. That is what we need to talk about not hurt feelings. The times or the sun talk more trash in their articles that could hurt people’s feelings.

If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
I remain a pessimistically hopeful Bears fan.
Just making a statement........
There was really nothing derogatory in my post that would constitute me being considered a new bee due to this post. All I was saying is that some people need to have thicker skin. It was a simple statement. I did not direct this toward a certain person. All I was saying is lets just talk football. in addition, as you will come to read my posts, you will find out that is that my opinion of my Beloved Bears do not change with the weather.
As a newer guy like me
its about Fanposts being ruined by some members wanting to continue an argument/discussion which started on a fanpost long gone and finished.
Fans change their opinions on our team as frequently as some change their pants. Reading games threads, players can go from elite to donkey in the course of a down.
Its not about hurt feelings, its about responding to each fan post on its merits alone, not wanting to continue an argument with others and spoiling the new fanpost for the neutral

Really?
When you call out the events of a prior fanpost in the BOTTOM of your fanpost in BIG CAPITAL LETTERS, that puts it in your fanpost. And people shouldn’t comment on what’s in a fanpost?
Look, if someone misinterprets you or gets your point wrong, just say so, bring it back to your point, and let it go. You’ve got good points but not every misinterpretation or disagreement deserves a deleted FanPost.
I’m not a staffer or writer here so if I’m out of line, Dane or Kev or someone, axe this.
