yes, Yes, YES! Brett Favre and Co. are coming into Soldier Field this Sunday afternoon! This should be good times, man, good times...
This is a huge game for us. Not only are the Minnesota Vikings are our division rival, but, with Green Bay sitting on a bye, a win would put us at 6-3, and in first place in the NFC North. We’re 2-0 in division play and we definitely want to keep that undefeated streak going.
The Vikings have a very good running attack. Adrian Peterson is one the best in the business, right now, so we’re definitely going to have our hands full with him. We’ll have to contain him and not let him have a big day.
Then, of course, there’s Brett Favre, who’s - well - Brett Favre, a future Hall of Famer. You saw what he did last week: 400+ passing yards were thrown in their comeback game against the Arizona Cardinals. So what we have to do is limit his passing game by making sure we get a good rush on him that keeps him in the pocket and unable to escape -- That’s when he’s the most dangerous: when he’s on the move, extending plays.
We’re also going to have to get turnovers. Thus far, I think taking the ball away from opponents is what’s helped us out the most as a defense, so we plan on keeping that trend going with at least three of’em against the Vikings. Actually, getting three takeaways per game is the standard we always set for ourselves. If we can accomplish that goal, I think we’ll enjoy the outcome of this game.
So get ready 4th Phase! We need you loud and rocking at Soldier Field! BEAR DOWN!
