OH, CANADA! MAN, it feels good to get a win and get back on the winning track after our bye week!
Sunday, we went on up to Canada to play the Buffalo Bills. I know they’re 0-8 and people typically say "you are what your record is," but they really are a very good football team. The past three weeks they’ve played extremely tough and put points on the board, so we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game. Their tape showed us that we’d have a dogfight on our hands and that’s exactly what they gave us. Fortunately, we were the team who was able to walk outta Canada with the victory.
I gotta give it up for our offense... They moved the ball around real well, had great balance, and put points up on the board. Defensively, we came up with three takeaways, which has really been the key for us this year. I’m thinking Tim Jennings’ interception in the fourth quarter was a huge - I mean HUGE - play for us. It was a good momentum swinger that let us go down and capitalize on it by scoring.
The Bills have a good quarterback, man. With him throwing passes to their quick receivers, they gave us a run for our money. But we were able to come up with key stops when they were needed the most. Personally, I was finally able to get on the turnover board with my interception at the end of the game, so you know that felt good.
All in all, I’m happy. We’re sitting at 5-3 and have Minnesota / Brett Favre coming into town next week. It should be a very interesting game and we’ll be ready for it. BEAR DOWN...
