I got hit by a car once, at a pedestrian crossing. Driver was chatting to his passenger, the road was pretty empty and he just didn’t notice that the lights were red. The only thing that saved me was noticing something was coming in a knee height and my rugby instinct was to palm it off as you would someone diving in for a tackle. The car stopped two car lengths beyond where I’d been and I landed probably another two car lengths beyond that. Unharmed, though.

Funny thing was that the driver was a footman at Buckingham Palace and, the following week as I walked past it on my way home after work (summer job, I was in university at the time), I passed the staff car park and swear that I saw that same car parked there. And that’s my only link to royalty :-D

Mine was as a pedestrian as well.

I was in a crosswalk, with a yield sign, and the bus driver was speeding. However, he was not royalty, or anything of that sort; he was, in fact, kind of an ass, and the police officer, also an ass (which he has a reputation of around the students when I went to college), ended up giving me the ticket for pedestrian failure to yield.

What happened to us?

All week all I read on here was “I can’t wait until we embarrass the Patriots” and “Tom Beiber is going to be getting hit all day” and now we’re all just talking about how we’re overrated or the defense is overrated. I know it’s hard to be positive but with all the big talk all week, this sucks!

"I feel like the pieces are in place. But we have to execute...It's about execution. You have to execute. You have to have a scheme that facilitates the strengths of your players. If it doesn't, then it's a bad scheme. It's that simple. So we feel real good about the parts in place on offense."

honestly

our d ends are just getting pushed up the field in the snow. they sliding out and the patriots are just working with it. killing us with the little stuff, and when we try and stop that. brady has so much time he can go long because either of our corners have fallen down or are just not in the right spots. offensively we are playing from behind, perfect for the no big play pat d. pretty simple stuff. lol

I know that the "Spawn of Satan" Packers lost today.

Which helps our division title hopes. But the Evil Falcons won, so with this game, any hope of getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs is likely gone.

Am I being presumptuous talking playoffs in a game thread when we’re losing by 29 points?

It was Tillman

nah

i dont think soo. the reason we were a top D back in 05-06 was of the players and play calling from what i saw they need to adjust. and from the reading on nfl.com( i stopped watching the game) they really need to hire back Rivera. Worst let go of Lovie’s tenure.

by chiguy8506 on Dec 12, 2010 5:30 PM CST up reply actions

This should be rec'd.

I mean, my brother (a Lions fan who’s reading this right thread right now) just IM’ed me to tell me how embarrassed I should be that our fans act like this. Imagine that, a lions fan telling me that I should be embarrassed. Worst part is, I kind of am.

It’s not like this team didn’t do the exact same thing to the top rated defense in the league last week. Remember them? THe NY Jets? Lost to the Pats 45-3?

There are so many Chicken littles in the ranks of Chicago fans.
