I've tried everything I can to win this game, but, sadly, to no avail.

I’ve changed my jersey, twice.

I’ve changed seating positions.

I’ve tried eating and not eating.

I’ve tried not going to the bathroom and spending too long in the bathroom.

I’ve tried with and without a cat in my lap.

I’ve tried with and without the wife in the house.

I’ve tried it in game threads.

I’ve tried with the computer off.

Don’t know what else I can do! Please advise.

And B) the house is dry.

The score’s been 7-0 to us since I made a cup of tea. Unfortunately it’s going to be a while before I can face having another one.

Know the feeling

After we fail to land up with the Lombardi trophy at the end of January, I have the disappointment of Ireland in the Rugby Six Nations tournament to come (Feb-April) and a couple of Irish provinces in the (rugby) Heineken Cup (May-June). Then it’s R&R for two months until it’s time to start complaining about the Bears’ preseason games.

Winning feels nice (2009-10 Blackhawks, the entire Jordan run), but the losses sting twenty times worse (Cubs 2003, the Super Bowl Loss). Oh well, pitchers and catchers report in February and the Bears are still leading the North!

They can dink and dunk and just move the ball, endlessly it seems. Slants, screens, bubble screens, quick outs, everything!! And it’s so frustrating to watch as an opponent. Very hard to defend that stuff.

He wins the opening coin toss and instead of taking the ball to score first, he gives it to the most prolific offense in the history of the game…. Idiot!

To be fair

We forced a three and out on the first possession.

Really?

I’m a huge advocate for firing Smith, but Bullshit to this. Smith Dared the best offense in the league to score on the first possession and showed the D he had confidence. They stopped them three and out. That’s called success.

Quite being stupid. If you see the opening coin flip as the big problem, then you are blind. And stupidity like this actually hurts the argument to fire Smith.

Defense put hi in a huge hole?

remember the fumble return fro TD? You know, whenthe offense can’t stay on the field, the defense has to be on it a lot. They get pretty tired when that happens. It’s not like the offense was moving the ball and scoring and the D just let them down. The offense gave us all of 32 yards in the first half on 6 possesions. That’s 5 yards a possesion for those who are counting.

The offense failed as much, if not more than the defense.

bad strategy overall

the field and weather basically took away our one big advantage vs. the pats, namely that our front 7 are fast as hell. it was obvious very early…we just could get that speed going. so, if we can’t generate a real pass rush, we should play nickel and dime most of the game, and not blitz. blanket the receivers. sticking to the base D for so long absolutely killed us. had the weather been better, i think our D would have done much better, but that’s no excuse for not adjusting quickly. this isn’t the lions…its the pats. you can’t sit on your butt too long vs. them, or they will kill you. which is precisely what they did.

I'll extrapolate the post, for the purpose of peace, lol.

From reading your past posts, I knew better than to assume anything but that you had just misread the post from SJS. So I said to re-read it and used a term of endearment I use frequently with my old military buddies when they do something like that. It’s playful, not insulting.

The Sky is falling is a reference to my original comment that SJS responded to. You seem to be pretty pragmatic to me, so I figured you to be somewhere in the same place I am about the whole “Sky is falling” crowd. You tend to be a bit more pessimistic than I am, but not prone to over-reaction. So that comment final comment was sort of like a wink/nudge between the like minded.

Thankfully...

the Packers lost as well. But what a worthless effort. There is not a Bears player that has anything to be happy about. Knox is my new least valuable Bear. If Chris Harris makes that INT in the first quarter in the endzone, does the game change or does it prolong the inevitable?

I'd prefer not to have Lovie return...Unless we win the SB baby!!!!

it may have changed it somewhat

but the O still would have needed to start moving the ball well at some point.

Drop in the suck bucket for today

and just about everyone gets a toke off that suck bucket. Wouldnt have mattered as we would have 3 and outed from our own 20.

Yet another game that could've used my

proposed 30-point Super Touchdown. Goodell won’t return my calls, though. I assume he just needs some time to process the idea.

Props to BB for getting so much out of a bunch of lesser known players

I for one didnt think their D would play that well. I expected TB to put up 30 but I thought we could go strike for strike with them. We got out coached, now that DOESNT mean fire Lovie. It means we just werent ready for the team that showed up. Tillman and Knox need to donate their paychecks to charity for this week, and does Tommie Harris even still play for us?

bout right

tillman just couldnt make a right decision all game. Johnny might have made up for things had the offense been on the field more. and i think tommie retired a few years back.

The announcers said the Vi-Queens dome collapsed, and they may play in Detroit for the Giants game

The Bears play them next Monday…

How long do it take to fix a collapsed dome?

Could you imagine if that happened with the seats full of fans?

Bright side

Pack lost (to the Lions)
Not a conference loss
Shitty Metrodome ruined
We won the second half 7-3
Brady season high in yardage, sure, but still has 3 games to beat that mark
I wouldn’t want to be a Vikings offensive player next week
Trent Dilfer still ugly, stupid
