Week 16: Monday Night Football--Saints at Falcons Open Thread

SEATTLE WA - DECEMBER 19: Quarterback Matt Ryan #2 of the Atlanta Falcons passes against the Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field on December 19 2010 in Seattle Washington. The Falcons defeated the Seahawks 34-18. (Photo by Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images)

Matt Ryan has lost one home game ever. Two great quarterbacks, two great offenses. Something's gotta give. This game has the makings of a memorable NFC South matchup--so it will probably be 6-3.

Are you ready for the final MNF game of the year? Let's go...

Fuck the Falcons!

Let’s go Saints!

Meh I like the falcons better as a team

And it isn’t likely that we’ll get the number one seed so I’ll root for them. Fuck the “who dat” saints.

Fuck the Falcons,

Besides, I want the Saints to take the Packers spot in the playoffs.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:09 PM CST reply actions

I've been

rooting for the Bucs too, they’ve had a great season and Josh Freeman is the real deal.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:17 PM CST up reply actions

Right.

All the hype Matt Ryan get makes me sick. Meanwhile Freeman is having a probowl year on a less talented team. But all I hear about is Matt Ryan being a young Tom Brady and Sam Bradford being the next Troy Aikman.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:21 PM CST up reply actions

Good point,

Josh Freeman is on his way to having someone say, “Hey, that kid is a young Josh Freeman” and it’ll be a good thing.

Aaron Rogers gets hyped like that too.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:24 PM CST up reply actions

I know. lol

I went and checked his numbers today and was shocked!! That kid has 23TDs and 6 INTS!!

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:28 PM CST up reply actions

Exactly.

I can’t stand Ryan. Is he good? Yes. But he also has a first round receiver to throw to, Gonzalez to bail him out, Michael Turner behind him and a damn good offensive line. I’ll give Bradford credit though. He looks to be the real deal in St. Louis. IIRC his two starting receivers were both lost for the season. I’m a huge fan of Amendola’s as well. Wes Welker 2.0.

WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!

by Acreman20 on Dec 27, 2010 8:27 PM CST up reply actions

Did you know that Matt Ryan

has been sacked only 6 times this year? I thought I heard that from somewhere. He’s good don’t get me wrong but come on!! He’s like an uber Orton to me. I think he needs everything perfect in order to succeed and to this point in his career it has been.

That’s why I give slack to guys like Rivers, Rodgers, Freeman, Brees, and Cutler. Those guys lack certain part but can put their teams on there back.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:31 PM CST up reply actions

lol right after i read your comment

i hear chuckie say on the feed “protection holds up long enough for Ryan to find his checkdown.”

by GtM on Dec 27, 2010 8:36 PM CST up reply actions

I checked

He’s been sacked 21 times it looks like. lol. Still pretty good. Poor Cutler has been sacked 46 times

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:40 PM CST up reply actions

Josh Freeman

Is the next Donovan McNabb.

(Sing song)...Everybody Hates Rondo...

by T.Moore on Dec 27, 2010 8:29 PM CST up reply actions

freeman

I’d say he is more of a skinnier version of Air Mcnair, sometimes he has those awesome flashy games, but mostly just consistent.

Bears. Bulls. White Sox.

by The Voiss on Dec 27, 2010 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

I think he'll be better than McNair

He kinda reminds me of Joe Flacco but better.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:43 PM CST up reply actions

I think he is going

to be better than McNair as well, McNabb too. Not sure why, I probably got to see about 9-10 Bucs games this year. To me he looks better than is stats say he is, and his stats are pretty good. I think it is the eye test, or something like that, I think that kid has it.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:46 PM CST up reply actions

Screw the Falcons

They’re good but they’ve had a horseshoe up their ass too. Then they get to play the worst team in football to lock up the number one seed. If they lose today and we beat the Pack, all I’ll think about is that Washington game and how it cost us the #1 seed.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Dec 27, 2010 8:18 PM CST reply actions

Yep.

I see the Panthers coming out next week and shocking the world. ;)

WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!

by Acreman20 on Dec 27, 2010 8:22 PM CST up reply actions

I'd rather hear about the falcons who are somewhat likable than mike dick and the fucking iggles

In addition to that I would rather face Eli in the playoffs than drew brees.

There's a possibility,

that the Bears might play better on the turf in Atlanta than they would on the turf in Soldier Field.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:26 PM CST up reply actions

Eh.

I’d rather have the homefield and the 4th phase backing ‘em up. Atlanta is a loud place. Went to the game last year, and though there were a ton of Bears fans, Atlanta’s fans get crazy loud.

WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!

by Acreman20 on Dec 27, 2010 8:31 PM CST up reply actions

Soldier Field

will be a great place to play games in January, if we are playing the Saints or the Bucs.

by Fridge72 on Dec 27, 2010 8:47 PM CST up reply actions

It would be nice if they both lost

But unless Ditka is interested, it’s not going to happen.
I will root for the Saints, but I have a feeling that even if the Falcons lose, they won’t lose to the Panthers next week.

by DaHamsta on Dec 27, 2010 8:21 PM CST reply actions

By this time every monday, let me tell ya, it sounds a great idea.

probably a bigger defeat for the falcons than a great victory for the saints, since they were lucky to get away with such poor ball security, while the falcons failed time and time again to give themselves some separation.

Its Clear That The Falcons Are Frauds

The only reason why they have the best record in the NFC is because they play a lot of lousy teams and they can get beaten by winning teams. In this game Atlanta had no offense, their two scores were due to a penalty call and the other one was a pick 6 by Brees.

All the talking heads on TV that gush about Matt Ryan are idiots; these guys are overrated and I hope the Bears kick their butts in the NFC championship game.
