Time for More Reps for Wolfe and/or K. Bell

I think the Bears should give some reps to either Garrett Wolfe or Kahlil Bell for this game.  The likelihood of the Bears moving into the number one seed is low, and we have had ever decreasing production from Chester Taylor (2.3 ypc).  What better time then now to see if these guys bring anything to the table that can spell Forte?  Which brings me to point two:  I view running back as the 3rd most important draft need going into next year behind Offensive Guard and Cornerback.  So what do you think?

i went stay the coarse

taylor isnt running well, but he can still block and make plays out of the backfield in the passing game, i think he should still get most of the reps forte doesnt.

The local press seems to think that we'd save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriters' time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big shitburger to eat!

Why

Do you view RB as the third most important need? Both Forte and Taylor are signed for a few more years so a RB signed right now would just be a backup anyways and likely a waste of a draft pick. I think every single draft pick should be spent on offensive linemen and defensive backs unless a can’t miss prospect falls to us. We’re fairly well set at every other position for at least a season or more.

In short, in life, as in a foot-ball game, the principle to follow is: Hit the line hard; don't foul and don't shirk, but hit the line hard!"

Because keeping him around for a while is important

Running backs have such a short shelf life. Its always good to have a competent second option to not wear out quality backs. I think Forte is the best player at this position since Neal Anderson, and would like to see the organization do whatever it can to keep him fresh. Your running back is always one hit away from being out.

rest no-one. lets go to green bay with all guns blazing. lets pad out our win loss situation with the pack.and dont forget there is a chance for number 1 seed.

They'll know by game time or shortly thereafter if there is a shot at #1

If that’s gone, then you play it smart or an injury to a key player makes the whole season a waste. Don’t forget that beating the Packers doesn’t automatically eliminate them either (if Packers, Giants, and Bucs all lose, GB gets the last WC), so the game might really be meaningless. The way the Giants are playing, losing to the Redskins is not far fetched at all and Tampa is going against New Orleans, enough said.

Get yourself ready for the real season, bragging rights are the fallback for all unsucessful teams, no one gets anything really tangible from them.

DT is way bigger need than RB

Center is higher on my list as well, cause whether or not Kreutz comes back they need to find his replacement in ’11.

"He's a great candidate," Ryan said. "If I hadn't made him drop in coverage so often on running backs, he might be the all-time sack leader. They call it zone blitzing nowadays. We called it, 'Richard, pick him up.'" - Buddy Ryan on Richard Dent's HOF chances.

agreed

kreutz doesn’t hae 3 productive years left. maybe not even 2 including this one.

Agreed about Kreutz

There are usually decent linemen available via free agency, so my thought is you take a guard in the draft and a center via free agency. Although we need to refresh the talent pool at undertackle, we have been getting good production from relatively unheralded names. Are we going to get tommie harris (before sucking) talent with our pick? Is this a higher need than a road grading guard or long term solution at center? I don’t think so. We can take more project guys in later rounds because its unlikely to get a difference maker while first satisfying our critical needs.

Isn't that the thinking that got Sizzle sacked 46 times this year?

Based on this season, Kreutz has no good years left

This man speaks utter and sad truth.......

Olin has a few good back-up years left, maybe. But he should be done as a starter….

I think Sound is forgetting...

that we drafted a running back last year. he got “redshirted”…. Unga. I replied here because I mostly agree with propheteer. Personally I think the draft order should be DT or CB in the first round, G or C in the second. Whatever else falls to us after that.

i voted stay

only because it is the end of the regular season and if those guys had something good enough to move up the depth chart, chances are they’d have shown it in practice by now this year. maybe (at least wolfe) will stick on the roster next year and find his way onto the field besides special teams.
