The Bears Den: 2/12/10
...where we are the undisputed, undefeated, heavyweight champion of Bears websites.
Larry Mayer does a positional review of the OL.
The Hair talks about what the Bears might do in the draft.
Brad Biggs breaks down the OTs, the CBs, and the TEs.
Brown makes a pitch for Kampman.
WIll Vasher be given the boot?
Bears unlikely to pursue Holt, according to Biggs.
Follow WCG on Twitter!
Martz busy analyzing what he has to work with; we could see some redefined roles.
Seifert does a great job on looking at potential franchise/ transition players.
Omiyale at RT? I'd vote for it.

The fact that Kiper doesn't even mention safety
is insane. The Bears will NOT draft a WR in the 3rd round. It will be an OL, S, or a defensive linemen.
Agreed
Kiper doesn’t have his sh** together…
But then again, this is JA, Lovie and Martz we’re talking about… Maybe Martz bullies his way into a WR pick? I hope not, I’m just sayin’.
Unless he is right...
and the Bears do focus on a WR in an effort to put 30-35 points on the scoreboard every game…because they don’t know if the defense can hold the opponents to less than 30…and then Kiper looks likea genius

Agreed
I don’t know where this “the Bears need another WR” comes from.
Certainly the Bears don’t need another young, raw, unproven receiver, which is what they would get in the draft.
The Hair
Mel Kiper Jr. lists four prospects the Bears possibly could consider at that spot: Kansas wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe, Abilene Christian offensive tackle Tony Washington, Louisiana Tech defensive tackle D’Anthony Smith and Wake Forest cornerback Brandon Ghee.
So now the Bears are predicted to draft players out of Abilene Christian.
Kiper has obviously slipped a little… No Vandy player?
i bet we have drafted more Abilene Christian players than any other team...
So that guy is a lock. I think Boldin will become available but the cards really seem to do better without him. Maybe anyone opposite if Larry Fitz will look great. We need another reciever in case of an injury. If DA or EB goes down we are thin. And Knox was not healthy all games last year.

Except when Fitz
wasn’t there, Boldin put up enormous numbers by himself.

They say he grades out as a LT.
Wow...
so many things going on. I would love to see the Bears sign a few guys: Wilfork, Kampman, LeRonMcClain, and Boldin. Next I’d love to see Omiyale at RT and sign or draft a LG that can compete with Beekman at LG. Get a FS (Chancellor, right NoItAll!) and some CB and LB depth in the draft. I think the Bears can do most, if not all of this. These are realistic goals and I hope JA gets it done, and Lovie doesn’t screw up the defense any further.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
All definitely possible signings
But I only see one of those FA pickups happening, if any. Hopefully I’m wrong, though.

Definitely possible...
is that like a permanent substitute?
or Is it like calling them apartments because they’re all stuck together?
or driving on a parkway and parking in a driveway?

Wasn't there a FS from Vandy who the Bears were looking at???
That would kill two birds with one stone…our FS need and our annual Vandy draft choice :-)

Is anybody else's page
doing weird formatting things? Everything’s off center and not lined up… AH!

The stupid, grey FB option at the top of the page.

Never mind
I figured out what GG was talking about. We can’t get rid of the FB option at top; I guess I have to live with FB/Twitter invading my privacy and eventually taking over the world.

OHH
Facebook. Gotcha. It looks like the formatting is fixed for me now. I don’t know why it was so crazy! : /

Why did they wait until the year was over?
Make zero sense if they thought it was a team weakness. Plus, they probably could’ve used him in the playoffs.
