Earl had knee surgery
I hope that I'm not the only one who had not known about this but according to Dan Pompei, Bennett had knee surgery and may miss a portion of the off-season workouts. This is a surprise to me because I do not recall Earl having any downtime during the season for any certain injuries or even heading to the sidelines because of one in game, please correct me if I am wrong. This is obviously a disappointment based on the arrival of Martz and his new offensive scheme that, according to him, the whole team will have learned and be ready to execute by the time we open the 2010 season. Earl proved to be a reliable receiver during his first season as a starter and I am excited to see how he progresses next season. I am disappointed though that he is now subjected to a healing process on top of learning a new system; I hope all of that Vanderbilt intelligence pays off and he can be ready by camp, we're going to need him.

can you blame the bears
for waiting to let us in on injuries. Be real, when word of injuries leak, they become topic of discussion as this thread is an example. Why cause a distraction before necessary? I don’t blame them. Yea I want to know ASAP like you guys but, it’s their team and with our media and all the “I feel how the media tells me to” fans we have, I would do the same if I were them. Telling us sooner doesn’t make the injury any better so why case more distractions?
Except for
when the Bears claim that Tommie Harris’ knee is ready to go and then you travel to Bourbonnais to see training camp and Tommie isn’t doing any drills with the team. Then a few weeks later they finally admit that he had surgery after they had lied that he was good to go. They can’t hide any more lies once reporters and fans are watching camp, but they still attempt to. I can definitely blame the Bears there.

blame em but..,.
blaming them like they are different from any other team is silly however. Plus, you prove my point. It was all over the place, as is how something becomes a distraction, when they told the truth. Yes some may have made it a bigger deal only because of the lie but I argue most would have made it a distraction anyway. Remember, it’s their team/business and they are going to do things the way they see fit best. If I had a business, I would handle it the way I see most fit too. Even if others don’t agree It’s my job and investment $$ on the line. Let’s keep it in perspective
