Next Years Record

Alright so before I get flamed i just want it to be known that yes i know we will add players this offseason to help but i was just curious as to what people thought about next years schedule.  It looks like a pretty tough road ahead.  I really hope our D can rebound and perform like they are capable of.   Depending on offseason moves i can see us going 9-7 at least.  We do have some tough games tho but this will only show that we can hang with the big dogs.  Any input here?  What do you guys think?

At this point....

I’d say 10-6

Wins
Detroit twice
GB once

Of course, offseason stuff will change that, but not just here. Say, Favre retires. That seriously changes Minnesota’s season, and I would then say 11-5.

Pace did quite well against Allen...

he gave up 0 sacks. Allen got his sacks on Cutler when Pace got hurt and Shaffer came in.

i prefer Williams on the left tho at this point

i cant justify paying Pace 5 million to underacheive. Pace was a baller in his day…it just so happens that his day was a few years ago.

6-10.

People who think we will finish abouve .500 are kidding themselves. The only possible way we will have a winning record is if we acquire a great Left Guard and/or Free Safety. Even then, I doubt we will have a winning record. Martz’s system will be a disaster.

Oh… and Marinelli has just been promoted to DC. This has the makings of another long season.

I don't think it's out of this world to think they'll be above .500

They were nearly .500 with a second string defense and a slavish devotion to bad offensive playcalling. Health alone is probably good for at least a win more than this year.

The majority

of every post on this board, wonderful as it may be, is speculation. But of course, that’s just my speculation.

Little early to say ......

…………. how many wins we’ll get . Once free agency and the draft are over it’ll be a little easier to predict . As of right now I say 8-8 or 9-7 .

by MidWayMonster54 on Feb 5, 2010 3:59 PM CST reply actions

Probably

around .500 if you ask me. With Favre out, I don’t know what’s giong to happen with Minnesota, but Green Bay will still be really good, and I will realistically say there is no way of comparing our team right now to what they have.
Wins- Let’s see… Detroit 2X, Washington, Seahawks, Bills. Maybe, only maybe…- Carolina, Miami, Philly Overall, we’re looking at 5-9 wins, but nothing to impressive in my eyes, just by looking at the fiesta bowl our coaching staff is, and the lack of draft picks.

by GriggsBriggs on Feb 5, 2010 4:46 PM CST reply actions

11-5

Call me crazy, but the Bears can rebound back quick.

by bears rock on Feb 5, 2010 6:47 PM CST reply actions

Another 7-9 season...

as the coaches and personnel stand right now. I would suspect it will take 2-3 great FA signings and 2 draft gems to improve much beyond a 8-8 season. We’ll see…

Too early to say

At first glance you might consider Seattle/Buffalo/Washington as wins however……

IF Hasselbeck is healthy then Seattle is a different team so it’s not easy for me to mark that one as a win. Usually when a team switches from a 4-3 to 3-4 there is a transition period and Green Bay and Denver seemed to have skipped that transition, with Buffalo and Washington being rumored to switch will they have the rough transition period? Or will they repeat like Green Bay/Denver?

THINK POSITIVE

whats with splitting the wins with the pack, when the D is healthy and cutler is in the mix we should win both. the pack will be lucky if they stay top of the lions. come on guys think positive, they had a good run in the pla-offs and will be lucky to get back there.

I was thinking positive coming into this past year and what did that get me? Frustration. I have now adopted a new motto

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. When the worst happens it doesn’t sting as much because you were prepared for it, but when the best happens it makes it all that much sweeter because you weren’t expecting it.

They dont fix the oline

add in no change in the defense and opposing offenses already knowing what is coming and how long it could take for the offense as a whole to gel…..Might be a long season….

Though who knows maybe Angelo signs 2 or 3 big time FA and drafts 2 home runs…..Course you think Angelo can do that? ….

by CloudyFuture on Feb 6, 2010 6:04 PM CST reply actions

To be fair.....

how can you say they didn’t fix the o-line? FA isn’t here yet, nor the draft. The only thing they could do is bring in a respected line coach, and they did that with Tice. It might be the only good coaching hire they made, but it was a good one.

Theres nothing wrong with this post by the way

Sure we haven’t drafted yet, or hit free agency but i am willing to go out on a limn and say

10-6…now this is subject to change depending on what we get in the draft/FA.

by Chitownproduct on Feb 7, 2010 12:22 PM CST reply actions

Exactly.....

A couple good FAs and a nice surprise in the draft, and we could be 13-3. A couple more Pace/Archueta acquisitions and another poor draft and we could be 3 and 13……….

by Irish Bears Fan on Feb 7, 2010 10:55 PM CST reply actions

lol......

Don’t feel bad, Irish. A lot of us got caught up in Cutler-mania………I was looking at a 12-4 record and a Chamionship game loss on my prediction sheet. To be fair, though. I had the Saints in the Super Bowl. Of course I had them losing to the Chargers, but I still had the Saint’s in the Big One, lol!

haha same here man

i think most has ridiculously nigh expectations…we figured Cutler would come in and we would score 40 pts/game and let up 3 pts/game haha

then reality struck….
