Dent Denied AGAIN.

The Trib is reporting Richard Dent has been denied entry into the hall of fame AGAIN!  The article also notes that other less worthy candidates have been allowed entry.  It seems no one wants to give the 85 Bears the respect they deserve.  I guess the good news is Rdent4hof won't have to change his name.  But the reality is a very worthy person was once again rejected for reasons I will never fathom.

Im watching it on NFL Network

it’s unreal…again

likewise!!

I thought for sure I was gonna hear his name. Can’t argue with the class of 2010. I do think that Dent should of gotten in before Rickey Jackson though.

I'd say "unbelievable"...

… but sadly, I’m almost used to it at this point. What a travesty.

This sickens me...

I had to “refresh” my memory of Rickey flippin’ Jackson. This is an utter joke. Neither Randle or Jackson deserve this BEFORE Dent. The stats alone are proof enough. Dent has better numbers on a defense that had other HOF players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jackson and Randle were the best players on mediocre defenses; of course they compiled those numbers.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!

not to mention

he was a Superbowl MVP as well, you know how much emphasis the NFL places on Superbowl crap too…it really is a travesty.snubbing the Bears over and over again

I was shocked

Jackson and Randal got in before Dent

Right......

How does John Randle get in before Dent when their stats are similar, and Dent has 2 Rings and a Super Bowl MVP to boot?

2 Rings?

I mean, yeah, I guess you can say that. But I assume the voters all (rightly) assign zero value to the second ring because he barely played at all that year and didn’t play in the playoffs.

The case for Randle is that he got the same sacks as an interior lineman that Dent got rushing from the outside. I can’t say that’s crazy. Its a LOT harder to get sacks as a DT, which is why guys like Randle and Warren Sapp get so much attention for 12-14 sack seasons, when it takes 18-20 from a DE to have the kind of season people remember for years after.

Randle was an excellent player. Sure, I could see making him wait to get his dues, but whenever he got voted in, he’s a legit hall of famer — as Dent would be too.

I'm not saying that......

Randle doesn’t belong. I’m saying that Dent has just as many credentials, if not more, and should have been in first. Dent played 2 games in 94 and had 2 sacks. When he played, he was effective and helped the team.

But somehow Dents 2 rings don’t mean as much as Randles 0 rings because Dent was injured during the majority of the 94 season? How does that make Randles 0 rings look better? Not to mention that Dent was the 85 Super Bowl MVP.

I don’t deny that Randle should enter the Hall. But before Dent?

Richard Dent: DE 209 Games – 137.5 Sk – 677 Tkl – 37 FF – 13 FR – 8 INT – 1 SFTY – 2 SB Rings – 1 SB MVP
John Randle:DT/DE 219 Games – 137.5 Sk – 471 Tkl – 29 FF – 11 FR – 1 INT – 0 SFTY – 0 SB Rings – 0 SB MVP

Dent’s been waiting 6 more years than Randle. Why?

But Randle did really cool things with eye black!

Its a joke. The HOF wants to ignore Dent’s accomplishments because he played on a great defense and they don’t want too much representation from one team during one era.

If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.

Dent should be in

And Randle did most of his damage as a DT, he was a hell of a player

by Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. on Feb 9, 2010 12:34 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

And Randle already got voted in.....

He is legit. I just don’t see how he’s more legit than Dent.

Ugh it is a damn shame

The poor guy has been waiting for years. I hope this isn’t more of the “But there’s already a bunch of guys from the ’85 Bears” excuse because that’s crap. If a guy’s worthy, he’s worthy.

I couldn't believe it...

and I’m sure he’s getting tired of getting his hopes up every year, just to have them dashed bc people don’t realize how great he was. Hopefully next year, Dent!

Like I said.

There are some BEAR HATERS! In ESPN and everywher else. But New Orleans I guess.

It's gonna happen

The frustrating thing is, he should have been selected years ago!

Dent has the numbers, accolades and team success that all go into account when making these decisions. Sooo what’s the hold up? I don’t get it.

Post Wreck’D!!!

He definitely should've made it

I cannot believe that 25 years later, only two guys from the greatest defense of all time are in the HOF. This will be corrected some day, I just hope they dont make him wait forever.

I like the way Rdent4hof looks

Over rdent4hof. How can I change that? I went to Edit Settings and Edit Profile… But couldn’t see where to edit my username.

send an email to Adam or Dane

they’re the only two that may be able to help you

little late on this...

but I was Bears fan 4-Ever!!! before. Looked like I was a 5th grader by that name and wanted to change it for awhile. I inquired about the same thing. I had to start a new e-mail and rejoin under my new e-mail to change it. I don’t know if they have helped you yet, but that’s what I did. I like the name you have chosen and couldn’t agree with you more. Tired of seeing our boy get the raw end of the deal. There is no justification for him not being in the HOF already, just BS.

Walter Payton lives on!!!
