More Props for Coach Rod Marinelli - @Kevin_Payne
I guess I'm not quite finished throwing around the good word about Coach Marinelli. What can I say? ...I'm a fan.
Remember how I mentioned in my first post how Coach Marinelli is a great motivator? Well, here's a "Marinelli Moment" that sticks out in my mind that reveals a little something about how he operates...
"You can't consider yourself a teacher unless the people under you are learning."
When I read that, I knew that this was a guy who takes great pride in being the best teacher he can be. Not many people call themselves out like he did when he wrote that on the board, because they don't want to be held accountable for any future failures. But there he was, telling the entire locker room that if we - the players - weren't improving, then he wasn't doing a very good job of coaching us. You gotta appreciate that kind of honesty in a person.
Oh, and did I mention how great Coach Marinelli is? ...No? Well, he is. He's someone every player in the NFL would benefit from having around. Too bad they don't, though -- because only WE DO.

I like that quote
Hopefully his knowledge will translate into the defense playing as good as we all think it should.

Agreed.
I’m glad we actually have a DC, but I’m still not sold on Marinelli being the guy. But like you said, hopefully.

The one I really liked about Hot Rod
was above the Linemen’s door, one of the first changes he made was to have the sign read “Rush Men” saying it starts with the mentality
"If I were a food critic being asked to write about the meal and experience at Waffle House, I would provide a drawing of two happy fat people giving each other a high five."

That's exactly what this team has needed from its coaches
hopefully his teacher mentality can rub off on some of the other coaches too. I like Marinelli more each tim eI read about him.
I think Rod ....
…. is gonna improve our defense as much as Peppers does .

agreed!!
Rod Marinelli is a great coach that got the SHAFT by a horrible Lions organization and was a GREAT catch by the Bears to bring him on board. That being said you should enjoy him these next two years because soon other teams (skins??) will be coming after his natural leadership and coaching abilities.
Can’t wait for the season to start!!!
PS After the Taylor move not really worried about Minny anymore Farve will not be back….It’s time to go back the oldest rivalry in the NFL Packers/Bears one of us will the North this year!!

I want to work for Marinelli.
Good motivatior, seems like he owns up to his failures and passes on the successes to his players. I hope to see good things from him taking the perverbial stick if you will on D and bringing it back to that fearce punch you in the mouth style that we all know and love and the rest of the league fears. Love the insider take as it sheds a more personal light on the rest of the players and coaches as to what kind of person they are not just coach or player.
Just call me Mr. 3000.
#91 has it...
…just ask that O Lineman from SF.
