Man… I ride all year on football, everything else is dull comapred to it now, to even think a lockout is a possible, let alone probable, is supremely depressing

And there seems no urgency to get something done

Hello, just because your league is a huge cash cow right now doesn’t mean the people won’t leave during a lockout. People will leave to the benefit of one of the other major 3 sports leagues. Start hammerin’ out something now NFL or you’ll be sad you screwed it up.

Bears' Madness Continues Today

A couple of notes on Bears’ Madness. First, vote however you feel like. I don’t care who is better, has the better resume, has more Pro-Bowls, is more popular…vote however you d@mn well feel like. That’s it. There’s no criteria. If you want to vote for the better player, then do it. If you want to vote for who you’re passionate about, do it. If you want to vote for a guy you just admire & like, then do it. If you want to vote for a guy, you love (or loved) to watch play even if it was only a season or two, then do that. The criteria is vague for a reason; to generate “thoughtful” discussion. If you disagree, in the comments, make your case. Please keep it respectful.

The Polls will, yes, clutter up the site this fist week. Sorry about that. They will not be on the Front Page until next week, when we’re down to 2 posts a day. If you are upset that FanPosts on the right are sliding down the scree, then REC a FanPost you want to keep visible. 3 REC’s will put it up in the Recommended FanPost section.

A full pdf bracket will be available today. If you are upset at an omission, well, what can I say?

Thanks for all who are participating, especially in the comments.

Thanks, MuleTrain

I have offered my apologies for my original stance on this.

I really don’t like popularity contests but I’ve tried to keep my comments constructive and made my arguments for the players I like. I can’t help it if I’m always right. J/K…..

If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.

Is it OK to have an Omission debate?

Just for fun? I think you could have thrown Brock Forsey into it just for the hell of it. That could have been fun. Replace McCaskey or Wale w/ him. I dunno, i’m just saying.

by Sam Householder on Mar 16, 2010 10:59 AM CDT up reply actions

Just keep it civil, please.
Is it OK to have an Omission debate?

Yes.

We all (the writers) picked the 64 we all liked. I took a few liberties as the author to put a Payton/Grossman and Halas/McCaskey vote in there, because I thought it would be funny. Like the real tourney, the 14-16 seeds have no real shot. Like the real tourney, the intrigue is in the sweet 16 matchups & beyond.

I know I left a lot of very deserving Bears’ off the field of 64. The Bears have 26 Hall of Famers; they are not all on the list.

by Mike Mueller on Mar 16, 2010 11:05 AM CDT up reply actions

No doubt.

You should have picked a play-in of like Virginia and Ted Philips, lol that would have been good for some laughs.

+1....

I appreciate the time and effort you put into this, Mule-Train. Thanks, bro. Gives us something to discuss and I think it’s a pretty cool way to pass the time til the draft.

I would rather play in Canada

Than the new Meadowlands. The new Meadowlands will be hopping that night, at least the Canada games haven’t sold as well as they wanted and the Bills suck.

I'm sure Tommie would be game for Canada...

can you say free health care? Oh, no he didn’t!
