Richie Incognito

Seriously, why aren't we going after this guy?

Star-divide

I know some say he has a bad attitude, but this guy would kick ass for us.

He is one mean mother and is a UFA.

We need the help and he could be an instant starter for us.

Everybody wants to talk about getting a WR or safety, but this guy would make our line one to be reckoned with.

if Otogwe is so great

why hasn’t ANYONE made a play for him?
I think its because the Rams SUCK SO BAD that their D got so much playing time that his numbers got inflated.
On any other team he would only get like 2/3 of the time that he had in St Louis
Incognito is free to be had

Cause

no one wants to pony-up 7+ million for a FS. That’s probably the minimum a team would need to offer, and it doesn’t guarantee getting him.

I read a thing the other day

It comes down to a few factors: 1) Most teams don’t want to spend time negotiating a deal just to have the Rams match it and lose out on him 2) As propheteer said no one wants to shell out $7 mil plus, especially since Rolle got a ton of money and most NFL teams think Atogwe is better and therefore take more money and 3) If Atogwe doesn’t sign his Rams tender by June he becomes a UFA so I think some teams want to see if that’ll happen.

Another flaw in your argument is.....

the snap numbers. Rams D took 1062 snaps. The Bears D took 1080 snaps. Atogwe was 46th in the league amongst safeties in snap count. The he took enough snaps to inflate his numbers argument doesn’t hold water. 45 safeties took snaps.

Atogwe

hasn’t been pursued for the reason GallopingGhost stated, why pursue him and go through all the work of offering him something, just to have him 1. turn it down 2. get matched by St Louis.

He's a decent run blocker, but he allowed the same number of sacks last year....

as our entire guard unit. Omiyale Garza and Beekman combined to allow just 3 sacks in 2071 combined snaps. Incognito allowed 3 in 518 snaps.

Omiyale allowed 2 in 751 snaps.
Beekman allowed 0 in 285 snaps
and Garza allowed 1 in 1035 snaps

Incognito allowed 3 in 518 snaps.

So his pass blocking is inferior to every guard on the team. His run blocking is better than any guard on the team, but only rated slightly higher than Omiyale, and Beekman and Garza are right behind them.

Add to that the fact that Incognito was the highest fined player in the league last season, and that he had the most personal fouls in the league, and I don’t want him. Kruetz is what a nasty lineman looks like. Incognito is what a stupid lineman looks like.

If "The Tuna" is interested...

That is all I need to know…

Plus, maybe he never had a coach like Tice that would knock him on his A$$ if he gets too out of line…
