Bears not likely to move up in draft

According to Jerry Angelo, it is unlikely that the Bears will try to move up in the draft into the first or second round.

Jerry on the difficulty of trying to move up.

"It’s very, very difficult to get teams to move out of those positions, so in all likelihood that’s not going to happen. We really don’t have enough to offer a team, and once teams kind of get fixed on filling their needs and on players, it’s very tough for them move. I’ve been in their shoes and I wouldn’t do it."

Greg Olsen may be safe after all, or maybe not.

Angelo also revealed that he doesn’t expect the Bears to trade a player on their roster for a draft pick.

"It’s a possibility. Do I see it happening? Probably not," he said. "If it happened it would probably happen on offense because that’s where we’re going to have the most change.

"A name was brought up to me [recently] about a potential player that might not be a real good fit—his name’s been bantered around. Players look at themselves and how they fit, and that’s just normal. They just want to know.

So what did we learn from all this? Normally he doesn't like to trade draft picks for players but he will if the right one is availabe. Also it's possible that a player like Greg Olsen has some teams interested in working a deal. Seems like JA is holding things close to the vest and I for one like that he isn't letting on the moves that they'll make. I don't really have much hope for the big impact player in the draft for us and most of that is based on our past inability to draft quality long term players. I think our biggest moves will be in the first few days of free agency. So what are your thoughts?
