Yahoo reports Chicago may have tampered with Peppers..

Michael Lombardi is reporting that Jerry Angelo may have met with Julius Peppers agent, Carl Carey, in Indianapolis.  Carey has no other NFL talent, so a meeting would be very bad for Chicago, as tampering would be the only conclusion.

Lombardi doesn't indicate where the story originated or source the accusation.  As Lombardi points out, Angelo definitely knows the rules, as the Bears charged the 49ers with tampering during the Lance Briggs Affair.

Let's hope that this is all some big misunderstanding or this could be a serious problem for the Bears.

UPDATE: Profootballtalk.com is reporting the meeting as fact. and chicagobreakingsports.com reported this meeting as fact last night, though without the tampering implications.

UPDATE: NFL.com is also reporting the meeting (hat tip to smudgers)
