NiqueBears post combine mock draft for the Bears
3rd round- Morgan Burnett, FS, Georgia Tech- With Angelo spending almost all the 25 million cap space on Peppers, Taylor, and Manumaleuna; I doubt they will shell out the money to go get a Ryan Clark or O.J. Atogwe. Morgan Burnett has the potential to come in from day 1 and start in Lovie Smith's Tampa-2. Burnett could slip to the early 3rd round and if he does he will be one the few draft day steals.
4th round- John Jerry, OG, Ole Miss- John Jerry had an impressive combine performance, and showed coaches, General managers, and scouts on hand that he is versatile enough to play Right Tackle. If drafted by the Bears I would envision that the Bears will want Jerry to play next to Olin on the offensive line to help with big tackles in the division like Ryan Prickett and Pat Williams.
5th round- Stephen Williams, WR, Toledo- Big receiver with decent speed, Williams reminds me of Vikings WR Sidney Rice with the way he goes up for the football. WR is not a top priority, but why not give Jay another big target to throw the ball to.
6th round- Ekom Udofia, NT, Stanford- This pick is pretty much a wake up call for Marcus Harrison who needs to step up this up-coming season. Harrison is getting a little too comfortable with his position on the depth chart because Anthony Adams is an older guy, and there is no younger player at the position behind Harrison. Lovie and Maranelli need Harrison along with Harris to play up to their full potential in order for this line to be dominate.
7th round- Ryan Perrilloux, QB, Jacksonville State- Do you believe in Caleb Hanie? I don't, if your going to not put a veteran behind Jay, at least put a better project QB behind him. Perrilloux has a trouble past, but as a 7th round pick he's worth putting taking a chance on.

perrilloux...
def worth a late round pick. that guy is a freak athlete and was a big time recruit goin into LSU. if hes got his head on straight, he could be a nice little sleeper
I'm pretty happy with Caleb Hanie
as happy as anyone who would have lost their QB, and by default their season, at that point anyways.

I'd rather a veteran QB be brought in
instead of a rookie. But I do like the upside of Perrilloux.

Agreed. We need veteran QB help.
I like Hanie but I don’t trust him as of now to be our #2 QB.

Another agreement ....
…. here also . We need a vet in the QB mix . Maybe a guy like Bulger who knows Martz system or even Culpepper could make sense .

Can't really know if we could trust Hanie....
We haven’t exactly seen him in real game situations. He’s looked good in pre-season, but even that is crap, because he’s not playing with starting receivers.
Honestly, anyone who claims to know whether Hanie would be good or bad is blowing smoke. He’s a mystery to fans. But I would like to see a wiley veteran brought in to the mix. Having an established insurance policy is always a good thing. But anyone pretending that they know how Hanie will respond should Culter get hurt and he has to start 7 games is doing just that….pretending.
If Martz starts calling for another QB, then I think we have a bit more to go on. If anything, Martz is great at evaluating QB talent. If he appears comfortable with sticking with what the Bears have, that will say something about Hanie, as well.

Great Idea and all...
But I don’t feel like our O-line will be benefitted by only only pick

I would like...
Ciron Black or Sam Young in the Fifth.. Both could be solid players and have size.

Heard Ciron Black was a big disappointment at the combine

judging by the combine....
Tebow is the best quarterback in the draft with Lefavor(i’m sure i didn’t spell that right)in second.
The combine doesn’t mean alot.
Nothing matters until they put the pads on

Good mock
Although, I can see another linemen drafted instead of a WR. Preferably it would be a RT with some versatility to play guard as well.

I'd rather see an RT with the versatility to play RT...
Sick of musical linemen. Bring in some guys who are meant to play the position. Guards who play guard and tackles who play tackle. Not centers and tackles who play guard and guards who play tackle.

Agreed
Either keep Omiyale at LG and draft a RT or put him back at RT and draft a LG…this “one player – 2 position and special team contribution” thing has to stop…
If you feel that we have a need at a certain postion…wild thought…draft that postion!

but with backups
you need them to play multiple positions… it’s all about their value to the team. If you have a backup C that can only play C and a backup C that can play G as well, you roll with the guy that is more valuable to the team. Only 8 O-Linemen are dressing on game day, so you need those backups to be able to play up and down the line.

agreed....but...
It would be nice if we could draft some guys who focused on one position, and were actually reasonable starters at one position. It would be nice to go into camp for once without wondering not just who was going to start, but where they were going to start…..
