NightLink: Bears looking to tweak the roster?
Here are a few evening links to satisify your Bears fix...
Do the Bears have Lito Shepard on their mind - POP!
Didn't the Bears just pay Desmond Clark a roster bonus or something? Now he might be on the move?
Hank Baskett??? Really??? I'll leave the Kendra pics to you all...
And here's the official statement from the Bears in regards to Kevin Jones. We hardly knew ya!

I was just getting ready to jump off of here and now this...lol
I haven’t read anything yet, wife thinks I am a Bears blogging junky (WCG of Course)…something makes me think there’s an intervention right around the corner…lol..time to read : )
Walter Payton lives on!!!
My wife feels the same way.
Maybe we should form a support group. Better yet, maybe our wives should!
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
We already have one, right here.
I could just see theirs, nothing but complaining and bitching and…oh, wait..thats ahh..nevermind : )

My wife gives me hell all the time also.
In fact she keeps insisting i have lived here loing enough and should be a Bronco fan.
they just don't understand...
once a Bears fan, always a Bears fan! We thought about relocating there after she gets done with college, but I think we are leaning more towards Arizona or maybe Texas.

Beautiful place...
Annoying fans. They only care when their teams do well (see: Colorado Rockies). I regularly get heckled for the cutler trade here. But what I tend to do is then ask that person who has heckled me to name five players on the Broncos (in fact that is my test for letting anyone say anything to me about a team) and then when they usually can’t, I ask them to shove it where the sun don’t shine.
Just a note on Clark
Clayton and another Bears beat writer (Dickerson I believe) mentioned that it was Clark that was the odd man out and that the Bears were trying to trade him NOT Olsen back when Manu was signed…..Looking for a late round pick…..

Read the same thing on Lito S.
I didn’t see the Desmond Clark thing coming. I guess that might answer some questions about Olsen if the let him go? Hank Baskett, Really… is exactly right…huh?
Walter Payton lives on!!!
Well, to be fair
If they paid Clark the bonus, and they do successfully move him for something logical and makes the team better, than paying him made sense.

If they bring in Baskett
for ST it would give them another “size guy” and kick Davis off the roster…..
Just to note according to draft sites looks like the Bears are looking at WR in the late round and have interviewed a couple WRs already….

Maybe Urlacher is putting in a good word for Baskett
..since he is a Univ of NM product also. Baskett has good hands, though you’d never know it when he muffed that onside kick, and is not afraid to go across the middle.
"I am not an animal!" - Merrick
pretty sure
Baskett botched the onside kick in the superbowl… which IMO was the turning point in that game… keep Baskett away

Strange NightLink Wilt.
Every link kinda came back to itself if you know what I mean. Very circumlocutious so to speak.
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
What?
circumlocutious
Great word!

This is definitely a good time...
to start trimming the fat. Next up, Nathan Vasher.

Reminds me of when dave terrell flipped off the fans at Soldier Field after scoring a TD (AS A BEAR!)….

Saw Milton bitching on SportCenter this morning that he didn't feel safe in Chicago
because he was black. Ummm milton they didn’t like you cause you sucked. The Derek Anderson stuff is hilarious.

no kidding
Milton wasn’t safe in Chicago because he was awful, and hated the fans…sorry, we don’t tolerate mediocrity, it’s just harder to hear the hecklers at Soldier Field, than in the outfield of wrigley

He said he got hate mail everywhere he's been

Well...
That’s a beautiful parting gift.
I’d think is comments would hold more water if the Browns were, um, you know, actually a winner.
More here...
Schefter shoulda found the rest of the quote.
“… I hope and pray I’m playing when my team comes to town and [we] roll them.”
Well, it IS the Browns, so anything’s possible, but DA, if YOU’RE playing, odds are there will be no rolling.
You know, I may be in the minority on this...
Even if we don’t get a whole lot for Dez, I think paying him his bonus was the right thing. He’s been a very good player for us for years, and it’s not like it’s hurting us cap wise or anything like that this year.
Give the man his money, and if you want to trade him, trade him. If not, he can have his swan song here this season and that’d be fine with me.

Yup,
That could be it too. The Bears have done that before.
Most recently I think it was, Promoting Basanez to the roster so he could get a game check and qualify for more money this year. Something about appreciating the work that he had done for the practice squad and traveling with the team all year.
Yep
Didn’t make sense in purely football terms, but a nice gesture on the part of the organisation.

I love my boy Hank from UNM (Go Lobos),
But as a Bears fan, I’d rather take a pass. Besides, I don’t feel bad for him. He can go right home to Kendra to make him feel better.

Good ole Tecmo Bowl or Super Tecmo Bowl?
That was great. A buddy of mine designed and built a spiral staircase for Jeff George in his house. With the way he used to take a beating, I figure he has probably fell down them a couple times. lol

It's too bad about Jones - hope someone picks him up
He really wasn’t healthy enough to even be a factor for us while he was in Chicago. So I guess this was to be expected.
If Taylor stays healthy and our line picks up where they left off at the end of last season, our running game should actually look like an NFL running game this year…
