Not a fun way
to finish it off. If we aren’t rolling along entering December, it’s going to be a long Christmas.

Exactly what I was thinking
Luckily we have the Pats and Jets at home. I’d much rather play Minn. and G.B. on the road in Dec. than New England and NYJ.
Chevelle and Three Days Grace??? Fuc*ing AWESOME!!!
Looks like a ...
….. tough but very managable schedule .

At least, though
The bye is later on in the schedule, none of this week five business.

I actually really like it...
We should enter the bye week either 5-2 or 6-1, or possibly even 7-0. We get the Packers likely before any OL additions solidify things, which is great. Getting the Cowboys early is somewhat annoying since they usually start strong, but oh well.
Getting the Jets late is great too, since that should both give our OL time to gel, and they may be coasting at that point.
Very much a backloaded schedule, but could see us going 8-0 before a huge game at home against the Vikings.

Exactly what I was thinking !! If we get out ....
… of the first 8 games 5-2 or 6-1 we could have a pretty good season .
The late season games don’t worry me all that much . The Jets are overrated and will prove it this season & the Pats are on the decline as we got as glimpse of last year . The Eagles minus McNabb are gonna stink up the joint this season & their NFC East runnin mates the Giants are an enigma .
I love closing the season with the Packers though !!!

The Jets offense is overrated...
But their defense is absolutely no joke top 3 in the league IMO. Very good personal, and extremely good defensive packages/blitz.

The Jets D has to be number 1
They’ve done nothing but improve it this off-season. On another note, what the hell happened to your fan post?
Chevelle and Three Days Grace??? Fuc*ing AWESOME!!!

There's not much wrong with Chevelle
Three Days Grace are pretty terrible, but Chevelle put on a really good show.

I went to Biloxi the weekend of Easter
And watched both of them. I was out of it, but it seemed like Chevelle only played for 20 minutes. Three Days Grace played for what seemed like forever. Three Days Grace put on a hell of a show though, so screw you guys… I’m goin’ home.

If not #1, then damn close.
This year, I’d have to say it’s going to be a dog fight between ours, the Bears, and possibly the Ravens depending on what they do with their draft picks. If they keep a defense first mindset, they could be monsters again as well with the huge amount of defensive talent in this draft.

If we can't find a FS...
That is way to high for the Bears. I’m a homer too, but I wouldn’t predict us being in the top 3.
As it stands now, I would predict the Bears being in the 15-20 range in the NFL, which is an improvement over the last few years.
This is working under the understanding that they are going to find a FS...
And that we won’t lose 2/3rds of our starting LB in the 1st Quarter of the season.
It’s tough to make an argument for a better starting three at LB, Peppers sounds motivated and happy, which generally means 10+sacks. If Tommie is at even 75%, playing on the same line as Peppers is going give him a resurgence year. We tend to forget that when Tommie was dominating as probably top 5 in the league at DT, he still had fairly mediocre people around him. Throw in Izzy/Anderson, Anderson may be a one trick pony, but word is he’s at least added one more trick, and with all the focus Peppers/Tommie will be getting he should be able to at least get 6-7 sacks himself, and while Izzy is a wild card, it’s damn hard to argue with his production no matter where they’ve put him.
FS is a question mark, but SS really isn’t. While FS is a glaring weakness, SS is a shining strength of massive depth, and fairly good skill. Payne has looked pretty good, and has a few seasons under his belt, and Afalava looked damn good for a rookie. His rookie stats were compared to Mike Brown’s, not to say he’ll end up being that guy, but it’s a damn good start.
Our CB’s aren’t the best in the league, but they generally don’t have to be in a Cover 2 system, Tillman still creates turnovers like crazy as long as he can stay healthy, and Bowman has been improving.
Basically, there are a lot of ifs, but it’s not out of the question to think our DL is going to end up top 5, and I’d say LB are going to end up best in league, with three Pro Bowlers. Throw in a pretty good SS, and either a good rookie FS, or my personal pick of bringing in a pro bowler FS in Atogwe, and well… it’s definitely possible to see us in the mix with the Ravens and Jets for best defense in the league.

tough finish….Only thing one can hope for is that NE and/or the Jets have things wrapped up and decide to “rest players” at the end of that….
Course @ dallas, vs pack, @ ny aint great either….
Should be interesting how fast the O can be picked up or its another long season….

Not bad at all....
The 1st half of the year are all winnable games plus we have the element of surprise being a new offense and should be clicking goin into the bye week..Come off the bye week with an “easier” game vs the Bills and be set to finish up strong..The Patriots dont scare me anymore, the Jets are only as dangerous as Sanchez makes them and GB/Minn are rivals so it doesnt matter when we play them, itz always gonna be a tough game…I can definitely see 11-5 and if Cutler takes that step towards greatness the record could possibly be even better..
It's playoff time and im in *sshole mode circa 09 Mamba...**ck your team and their title chances.
I think 9-7 or 10-6 will be feasible
Tough schedule though, I usually just split the division figuring that’s a little more certain (except Lions of late but maybe no this year…) so right there that’s 4-2, then throw in Bills, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks and Redskins, that’s 9 wins right there. If we can steal a sweep of the Vikes or Pack and maybe grab one from the Cowboys, Pats or Giants then that’s 11-5. Not out of the realm. I’m not booking it yet but I’m leaning that way.

Here's the thing
Every year teams that were supposed to be good suck (see Bears post Superbowl) and teams that you figured would blow goats suddenly produce wins. Its too unpredictable to predict.
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
Exactly
Last year we were all whooping it up over the Steelers win, and they didnt even make the playoffs
That's the good thing about our receivers and the offense we're going to be running.
We might not have a guy that screams #1, at least not yet, but we’ve got three or four guys that can be quality #2’s, and a good pass catching TE, which basically tells a single shutdown corner to have fun working his hardest while his teammates get burnt over and over again. They switch him to the hot receiver, and someone else is open.
I still don’t know that I’m a huge fan of the Martz signing because of the state of our OL, but we definitely have the WR for it.

After looking at this for a while...
I see good things for the Bears. Other than maybe Dallas the NFC east doesn’t have great offenses. The tougher AFC opponents are home games. The only difficult part is the away division games late in the season. The Bears offense will probably be better, make less mistakes, and score more points. The biggest worries are on the defense, which should be better with Urlacher back and Peppers on the outside. Since most of these opponents do not have greatoffenses, the Bears have a chance to stay in games. My best guess is 9-7 and out of the playoffs, but they could also go 12-4 depending on the addition of DB talent, an improved o-line and better offensive coaching. Still, the big question is the defensive coaching, and I feel that, in the end, will end up getting Lovie fired at season’s end; and rightfully so because he chose those coaches.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
I see 4 tough games outside of division.
Dallas, Giants, Dolphins (only because it’s a Thursday game) and Jets. If we can take a can or 2 out of those 4 then I can see Chi having 11+ wins. Fighting only Minn for the division and then only if Favre is back, if not then Chi wins the division.
We are who we think we are.
I love all the noon home games
Not a big fan of going to night games. I love getting out there and tailgating in the morning and then be home to watch the second half of the afternoon games.

Nice beginning
but tough stretch to end the ‘10 campaign. We’ll know by the bye week whether or not this team is a contender or a pretender. At a minimum, they have to be 4-3 or 5-2 entering the bye to have a realistic shot at the dance.

looking at how they played last year
9-7.
split the division.
wins: panthers seahawks skins bills eagles
if we see the same old from the d, they’ll drop the skins game.
if they actually come out better this year then they should be able to pick up the miami game and maybe the giants.
the more i stare at this
the more i think they finish the year 0-4 and lovie is gone.
I think the Dallas game in week 2 is the most pivotal on the schedule.
Assuming we beat Detroit in week 1, that game at Dallas will set the trend for the rest of the season. Dallas is a good team, but not great. Will the addition of Pepper’s make the defense better? Romo is a good QB who can move in & out of the pocket, if we can pressure him he can get rattled.
Will the new offense be any better? Will we be able to protect Jay Cutler? Going up against DeMarcus Ware & the 9th ranked defense (7th in sacks) will be a real nice early season test.
By going into Dallas and winning, the Bears will make a really loud statement that they are for real in 2010.
Didn’t that happen a couple of years ago but we lost???In we 3 I believe we lost to them and the rest of the season was dreadful…….

Admittedly, it's an optimistic 10-6
Alotta ifs.
If Tommy Harris can step it up, if Sgt. Peppers can live up to his contract, if our key players can stay healthy, if Favre comes back for another… ifs, ifs and ifs (draft, trades, etc.)

Optimistic outlook
It is very reasonable to say that we could start the season with an 8-0 record. Our toughest games come after the bills. Dallas will be tough but they choke a lot and Green Bay will be tough as they are a division rival but we will take at least 1 game from them. We will have a great start to the season. Cant wait.
