Last I heard, Pittsburgh didn’t sign him after all. I suspect there was too much competition for the position.
How do I break it to the cat that since he has been declawed, the rabbit he sees in our backyard would kick his sorry butt?

We should probably starting taking a deeper interest in Carloina's drafts
from now on, since we basically keep each other as another practice squad full of players

I had not heard about Afalava's injury before, how serious is this?
Afalava is dealing with nerve damage in his shoulder, an issue that could cloud his future.
So he has
a CloudyFuture? …..

Its too early for word play
seriously though, thats horrible news for a young man who could have been a good player. Perhaps he still can.
Now I know why we get off the bus running.

Must be too cheap to buy some :P
(Asshole Sr) "If you learn one thing here, NEVER pass out in Ohio."
why dont we keep payne
he is a better safety than josh bullocks and craig steltz who remarkably transforms into a LB nicely in madden..haha
Bear down Chicago
Because that would be sensical
and after a great off-season the only thing left for JA to do is something very stupid.
The time for trading D Manning...
was before the draft. An extra 3rd round pick would have been nice, but now he’s probably not going to garner much on the trade scene. If Jennings plays even mediocre nickel, Manning will be gone by season’s end. It’s such a waste for both the Bears and Manning that some deal wasn’t worked out before the draft.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
Afalava injury?
anyone have a link to info on Afalava’s injury?
If he has a significant injury, then it makes it a no-brainer to keep Payne and release Al. Out of all of our safeties, they are the two most interchangeable (though Payne is more of a playmaker).

Just some blog hits from Biggs on it.
From Nov 8:
Rookie strong safety Al Afalava will undergo an MRI on his right shoulder to determine the nature of his injury on Monday morning.
Afalava left the game in the first half when he missed an arm tackle on a running play.
“He ran through my arm and the shoulder went numb,‘’ Afalava said.
Afalava was knocked out of the game when he re-injured his right shoulder that first became a problem in preseason. Afalava said after the game that he expected to have an MRI today, but that apparently didn’t happen. This from Nov 9: ”http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/11/tillman_announces_he_will_be_r.html#more" target="new">link
This from Nov 12th:
Veteran Josh Bullocks will make his first start with the Bears as a right shoulder injury will sideline rookie strong safety Al Afalava.

that would be a shame
if Flava Flav ended his career after 1 year because of nerve damage. i like how he’s a hard hitting safety, came back to bite him.
I just read on ESPN's page
That the Bears have been in contact with Jamar Nesbit and Shawn Andrew’s agents..
Adrian Pedestrian!! Now that's funny Mr. Bayless...
Figures...
Nesbit: picked up by Carolina as an undrafted FA in ’99. Had 57 total snaps last year, but from three different positions (TE, G, C).

Shawn Andrews.
Hell yes. We need maulers. And we’ve got enough karma stored up from the Marc Columbo years to send a cockroach to Nirvana.
